Unit Overview
The AGPTEK R2 is a compact digital audio player. The front panel features an LCD screen, navigation buttons, and a menu button. The top panel has a Micro-USB port. The side panel includes a Micro SD card slot and an Earphone Jack.
Key controls and indicators:
- LCD: Display screen.
- VOL+: Volume up button.
- VOL-: Volume down button.
- Menu button: Accesses menus or exits to the superior menu.
- Play/Pause/Power On-off/Enter: Controls playback and power.
- Previous, moving up and fast forward playing: Navigates tracks forward or scrolls up.
- Next, moving down and fast backward playing: Navigates tracks backward or scrolls down.
- Micro-USB: For charging and data transfer.
- Micro SD card: Slot for expandable storage.
- Earphone Jack: For audio output.

Basic Operation
Powering on the player
Press and hold the ▶ button (about 3 seconds) to turn it on.
Turning off the player
Press and hold the ▶ button (about 3 seconds) to turn it off.
Lock keys
Press both the M and ▶ buttons at the same time. A lock icon ? will appear, and the keypad will be locked and not working.
Unlock keys
Press both the M and ▶ buttons at the same time. An unlock icon ? will appear, and the keypad will work normally.
Battery Charging
When the battery indicator on the screen shows low power, you must charge the device. The device has two charging options:
- a) Charge the device via the USB connector ?.
- b) Charge the device via a USB wall adapter (not supplied).
Note: The charging time should not exceed 4 hours. It is recommended to turn off the device before charging.
MUSIC
Loading music
- Connect the digital audio player to a computer using the Micro-USB Port ? and a USB cable.
- Once connected, the unit will show up on the connected computer as a USB drive, external hard drive, or memory card.
- Drag and drop the desired audio files into the unit's drive location on the connected computer.
- After the files are loaded, right-click the drive on the computer and eject it, then disconnect the USB cable.
Play your music
Find the ? icon, press ▶ to enter the music interface. By pressing ◀/▶, you can view lists: "All songs", "Artists", "Albums", "Genres", "Playlists", and "Update the card data". Press ▶ to confirm your option and start to play your music.
When the device is playing songs, long press the M button to enter sub-menus. Press ▶ to enter the option you want:
- Home: Select this option to return to the main menu.
- Repeat: Appears 4 options: Repeat off, Repeat 1, and Repeat All.
- Shuffle: Choose On or off mode as you want.
- Bookmarks: Mark a stopping time (hh:mm:ss) to resume playback later. Up to 10 bookmarks per audio file. You can overwrite or delete bookmarks via the "Go to bookmark" or "Delete bookmark" options.
- Speed: Adjust the playback speed.
- Language learning: Offers 3 options: Repeat mode, Relay times, and Relay Interval. Press ▶ to select.
- Sleep timer: Set a timer for automatic power off.
- Equalizer: Choose from 7 equalizers: Rock, Funk, Hip Hop, Jazz, Classical, Techno, and custom.
- Delete: Confirm deletion of the current song.
- Add to playlist: Add the current song to one of three "Playlist on the go" options.
- Remove from playlist: Remove the current song from a playlist.
To create playlists by yourself
Use the free program Media Go. Create playlists in Media Go, then right-click its name and select 'Add playlist to X:' (where X is your MP3 player's disk). You can download Media Go at http://mediago.sony.com/chs/download.
Note: Short press M to exit and return to the superior menu at any interface.
RECORD
Find the ?️ icon and press ▶ to enter voice recording. The following list will show:
- Start Voice Recording
- Recordings library
- Storage
- Recording Format
- Record Settings
- Select a format from MP3, WAV, or ACT.
- Scroll to "Start Voice Recording" to begin recording.
- To pause or stop recording, tap the central icon at the bottom.
- To play recordings, go to "Recordings Library" and play as music.
FM RADIO
Find the ? icon and press ▶ to enter radio mode. A related list will show including "Station list", "Manual tune", "Auto tune", and "FM recording".
- Station list: Displays radio station frequencies, with up to 30 frequency points reserved.
- Manual tune: Press ▶ to enter manual search mode. You can search programs manually by pressing ◀/▶ buttons.
- Auto tune: Press ▶ to enter Auto tune mode. It will ask "Do you want to auto-tune?". Press ▶ to confirm Yes or No. If Yes, it will search automatically and save stations in "Station list".
- FM recording: When listening to a broadcast station, long press the M button to access sub-menu options: Home, Start FM radio recording, Clear preset, Auto tune, and Tuner Region.
Note: The player defaults to the command band. If you are in Japan, you need to change to Japan Band.
FOLDER
Find the ? icon and press ▶ to enter the folder menu. Here you can check files stored on the device. When playing music under "Folder", songs will shuffle by folder if shuffle is turned on.
EBook
Find the ? icon and press ▶ to enter. You can find all ebooks stored on the device. Select and press ▶ to read the ebook.
SETTING
Find the ⚙️ icon and press ▶ to access the following settings:
- Backlight timer
- Key tone
- Sleep timer
- Date and time
- Language
- Information
- Format device
- Factory settings
- When playing time reaches the set sleep timer, the player will power off automatically.
- Choose the language according to your needs.
- View information about your player under "Information".
- Set the backlight time of your player.
- Format the device or restore to factory settings.
