TD168F ACT Field Termination Plug RJ45 CAT6A Shielded
Step 1: Components
The following components are included:
- ACT TD168F RJ45 plug housing
- Protective boot
- Connector insert
- Copper foil tape (dimensions: 30mm length, 10mm width)
Step 2: Cable Preparation
Slide the protective boot onto the Ethernet cable. Ensure it is positioned correctly for later attachment.
Step 3: Jacket and Shield Stripping
Strip the outer jacket of the cable to a length of approximately 30mm.
For S/FTP cables, carefully strip the foil shield to approximately 10mm, exposing the twisted pairs.
For U/FTP.F/UTP cables, strip the foil to approximately 10mm.
Step 4: Apply Copper Foil Tape
Wrap the copper foil tape around the cable jacket, starting from the edge of the stripped jacket and extending approximately 10mm.
Step 5: Arrange Wire Pairs
Carefully untwist the wire pairs. Arrange the individual wires according to the specified color code for proper termination. A correct arrangement is indicated by a checkmark [✔️]. An incorrect arrangement is indicated by a cross mark [❌].
The correct order for insertion is shown, ensuring pairs are kept together and wires are straight.
Step 6: Guide Wires into Plug
Using the provided tool, guide each wire into its corresponding terminal slot within the RJ45 plug. The tool helps ensure wires are correctly positioned.
[Down arrow] indicates the direction of insertion.
Step 7: Seat Wires and Check Length
Ensure all wires are fully seated in their respective terminals. The exposed conductor length extending from the cable jacket should not exceed 5-8mm.
Step 8: Trim Wires
Using wire cutters, trim the excess wire conductors. The ends of the conductors must be flush with the plug's internal contacts or within a maximum of 0.2mm to ensure proper connection.
CUT 1 and CUT 2 indicate the trimming points.
Step 9: Align and Insert Plug into Housing
Align the terminated RJ45 plug with the connector housing. Insert the plug into the housing until it clicks or is fully seated.
[Right arrow] indicates the direction of insertion.
Step 10a: Close and Secure Housing
Close the connector housing over the plug. Step 1: Close. Step 2: Rotate the housing mechanism to secure the plug and cable.
Step 10b: Attach Boot
Slide the protective boot over the assembled plug and housing to complete the termination.
[Right arrow] indicates the direction of boot attachment.
