ACT 5e Digital Keypad Mounting Instructions
Installation Notes
- Always factory default the controller before programming.
- Place the supplied varistor across the door strike coil terminals to protect relay contacts.
- Never use the onboard relay to switch AC mains voltage. Use an external relay isolated from the ACT 5e.
- Change the programming code to something known only to yourself.
IMPORTANT: Ensure an alternate means of escape in case of unit failure or power loss.
Note: Power up without link LK1 if the programming code has been lost.
Mounting Instructions for Surface or Flush ACT 5e
Spacers break away from the main component when required by the installer.
Surface Mount Unit
View shows mounting plate before spacers are broken away by installer.
View showing spacer stacking.
Note: Determine the distance between the patress box and the mounting plate using the spacers labelled 1mm to 4mm. Stack spacers to achieve the correct length.
The surface mount collar is mounted on the wall using the supplied fixing kit.
Place the reader/keypad onto the surface mount collar and clip down. Use the security screw to attach the unit to the surface mount collar.
Flush Mount Unit
Standard pattress box.
Mounting plate is attached to the pattress using the screws supplied. Ensure correct spacers are used to bridge the gap between the mounting plate and the fixing wings of the pattress box to avoid distorting the mounting plate.
Place the reader/keypad onto the surface mount collar and clip down. Use the security screw to attach the unit to the flush mount collar.
