Connecting the power adapter

  1. Connect the AC power cord to the power adapter.
  2. Connect the AC power cord to a power outlet.
  3. Connect the USB-C plug to your computer.
  4. On the taskbar, Windows indicates that the computer is charging. Ensure to check if the computer is charging.
  5. Connect a compatible phone or tablet to the USB port for charging.

Troubleshooting

Problems Possible causes Possible solutions
Computer/Mobile device is not charging Power adapter may be not working
  • Check if the LED on USB-C cable is glowing. Ensure that the USB-C cable is securely connected to the computer.
  • If the LED is not glowing, check the following:
    • AC plug is securely connected to the power adapter's AC inlet.
    • AC power cord is properly connected to the power outlet.
    • Disconnect all the cables and reconnect the AC input and try again.
    • Contact Dell if the computer is still not charging.
Mobile device on USB port is not charging Power adapter may be not working
  • Check if the LED on the USB-C cable is glowing. Ensure that the USB cable is securely connected to the device.
  • If the LED is not glowing, disconnect all the cables and reconnect AC input power and see if the LED turns ON. Contact Dell if the computer is still not able to detect the power adapter.
