Jandy Versa Plumb Kits Installation Instructions
Important Safety Information
WARNING: For safety, only the plumbing pieces in the Versa Plumb kits are intended for DIY homeowner installation. Any pool equipment such as heaters, filters, and pumps must be installed and serviced by a licensed and qualified contractor. Failure to follow instructions may result in property damage, serious injury, or death. Improper installation voids the warranty.
WARNING: To prevent electrical shock, carbon monoxide poisoning, explosion, or fire, turn off all electrical power, gas supply, and other power sources to the pool equipment before installation. Follow pool filter instructions to properly drain the filter.
WARNING: Never start the pump while standing within five (5) feet of the filter. Pressurized air in the system can cause the filter lid to blow off, leading to severe injury or death. Consult equipment manuals for proper startup procedures.
WARNING: When using CPVC cement, use a cement listed by NSF® or an equivalent Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL). Read and follow the cement manufacturer's instructions.
IMPORTANT: Pool/spa water inlet temperature must not exceed 122°F (50°C). Spa water should not exceed 104°F (40°C). Water temperatures between 100°F (38°C) and 104°F (40°C) are considered safe for healthy adults. Lower temperatures are recommended for children or extended spa use.
Solar System Safety: Solar collector panels must drain completely when the pump is off and require an automatic air relief/vacuum-breaker valve. Use only solar collector panels with these valves to prevent damage and scald hazards. Release all air before testing. Test pressure must not exceed 35 psi. Test temperature must not exceed 100°F (38°C).

Installation Instructions
A. CV Standard Kit (VPK-CVSTD)
- Position pool suction and return lines in front of the equipment pad.
- Position equipment pad components, bringing piping through perforated holes on the template.
- Connect the pump to suction lines (pool or pool/spa combo) using CPVC cement and primer. Pipe length into the suction port should be a minimum of four times the pipe diameter.
- Connect the pump to the filter using the sweep elbow with the 1½" NPT plug component (marked "A" in Figure 1) using CPVC cement and primer.
- Connect the filter to the heater using the straight pipe with union nuts (marked "B" in Figure 1) using CPVC cement and primer.
- Attach the check valve (marked "C" in Figure 1) to the outlet of the LXi™, ensuring the flow arrow points correctly.
- Optionally, attach a salt chlorinator spool or blank spool assembly to the check valve and run the return line from the spool to the trench using CPVC cement and primer.
Note: The kit includes two (2) additional 3-way valves and a spare 12" of pipe for adding components to the return system.
B. CV Solar Kit (VPK-CVSLR)
B.1 Piping and Valve Connections to the Solar Stub-Outs
- Position pool suction and return lines in front of the equipment pad.
- Position equipment pad components, bringing piping through perforated holes on the template.
- Connect the pump to suction lines (pool or pool/spa combo) using CPVC cement and primer. Pipe length into the suction port should be a minimum of four times the pipe diameter.
- Connect the pump to the filter using the sweep elbow with the 1½" NPT plug component (marked "A" in Figure 2) using CPVC cement and primer.
- Connect the filter to the heater using the provisional solar assembly component with union nuts (marked "B" in Figure 2) using CPVC cement and primer.
- Attach the check valve (marked "C" in Figure 2) to the outlet of the heat pump, ensuring the flow arrow points correctly.
- Optionally, attach a salt chlorinator spool or blank spool assembly to the check valve and run the return line from the spool to the trench using CPVC cement and primer.
- Install a check valve and piping (see Figure 3).
- Install the Jandy valve actuator onto the Jandy 3-port diverter valve (see Figure 3).
- Install the solar controller per manufacturer's instructions and connect to the Jandy valve actuator. Adjust the actuator for correct diverter positions (Figures 4 & 5).
Note: The check valve and Jandy valve actuator are not included in the CV Solar Versa Plumb Kit.
Note: The kit includes two (2) additional 3-way valves and a spare 12" of pipe for adding components to the return system.
C. CS Standard Kit (VPK-CSSTD)
- Connect the pump to the filter using the sweep elbow with the 1½" NPT plug component (marked "A" in Figure 6) using CPVC cement and primer.
- Connect the filter to the heat pump using the flange tail piece with union nut (marked "B" in Figure 6). Glue the flange tail piece directly into the heat pump inlet port using CPVC cement and primer.
- Attach the check valve (marked "C" in Figure 6) to the outlet of the heat pump, ensuring the flow arrow points correctly.
- Optionally, attach a salt chlorinator spool or blank spool assembly to the check valve and run the return line from the spool to the trench using CPVC cement and primer.
Note: The kit includes two (2) additional 3-way valves and a spare 12" of pipe for adding components to the return system.

Plumbing for Pool and Spa Combination
This section describes simplified plumbing setups for pool and spa systems sharing a filter pump, filter, and heater. It explains how Jandy Valve Actuators (JVAs) synchronize circulation between pool and spa. Consult specific Jandy manuals for detailed information.
Note: In a shared system, the spa water must be able to overflow back to the pool.
WARNING: Flow rates must not exceed manufacturer maximums for suction fittings or skimmers. Exceeding recommended flow rates can cause serious personal injury or death.
