Insignia LED TV User Guide
This guide provides comprehensive instructions for setting up, using, and maintaining your Insignia LED TV.
Child Safety
Proper television placement is crucial for safety. Always follow manufacturer recommendations for stands and installation. Avoid placing TVs on unstable furniture like dressers or bookcases where children might climb. Ensure cords are routed safely to prevent tripping hazards.
Wall or Ceiling Mounting
If mounting your TV, use a recommended and certified mount. Ensure the wall or ceiling is suitable for the mount's weight and construction. Professional installation is advised if unsure. Mounting often requires at least two people.
Moving Older TVs
When moving older CRT televisions, ensure they are placed on sturdy furniture and do not overhang the edge. Prevent children from using furniture with TVs as climbing aids.
Important Safeguards
Electric Shock Hazard: Do not remove covers or expose the TV to rain or moisture. Refer servicing to qualified technicians.
CAUTION: Indicates dangerous voltage. Do not open.
General Safety Instructions: Read and follow all instructions. Do not use near water. Clean with a dry cloth. Ensure proper ventilation. Avoid heat sources. Do not defeat plug safety features. Protect the power cord. Use only manufacturer-specified accessories. Use appropriate carts/stands and exercise caution when moving them. Unplug during lightning storms or long periods of non-use.
Servicing: Refer servicing to qualified personnel. Unplug the TV if the power cord is damaged, liquid is spilled, the TV is exposed to rain/water, it malfunctions, or it has been dropped.
Remote Control Batteries: Do not expose batteries to excessive heat. Use correct battery types (e.g., AAA, AA carbon-zinc or alkaline).
Stability Hazard: Televisions can fall, causing serious injury or death. Always use recommended furniture and mounting methods. Ensure the TV is not overhanging. Educate children about climbing dangers. Route cords safely. Never place the TV in an unstable location or on tall furniture without anchoring. Avoid placing the TV on cloth between it and the furniture.
Lightning Protection: Unplug the TV and disconnect antenna/cable systems during lightning storms.
Power Lines: Keep outdoor antennas away from overhead power lines.
LCD Panel Handling: The screen is glass. Avoid dropping, hitting, or pressing hard. Be careful of broken glass if the screen breaks. Do not touch liquid from a broken panel; it may cause skin inflammation. If liquid contacts mouth or eyes, seek medical attention.
Replacement Parts: Use only manufacturer-specified replacement parts.
Safety Check: After service, ensure the TV is in correct operating condition.
Power Source: Operate only from the indicated power source.
Outdoor Antenna Grounding: Proper grounding protects against surges and static. Article 810 of the National Electrical Code provides guidance.
Condensation: Avoid rapid temperature changes. Allow the TV to acclimate for an hour before turning on if moved between different temperature environments.
Mobile Telephone Warning: Keep phones away from the TV to prevent interference.
End of Life Directives: Recycle or dispose of the TV responsibly according to local regulations.
Non-active Pixels: A few non-active pixels (fixed colored dots) are normal and do not affect performance.
Radiation Exposure Statement: Complies with FCC/ISED limits. Maintain 20 cm distance from the body.
