Elinchrom ONE Quick Start Guide
This guide provides essential information for setting up and operating your Elinchrom ONE portable flash unit.
Screen Views
The Elinchrom ONE features intuitive screen displays for easy operation.
Work Screen
The Work Screen displays the most important settings once the unit is configured. It automatically appears after 45 seconds of inactivity.
Sub-menu Screen
Use this screen to select features by scrolling through options. Navigation involves scrolling, selecting, and confirming actions like 'Back', 'Save', or 'Exit'.
Screen Lock
To activate the touch screen lock, press and hold the ON button while powering on the unit for 9 seconds. A lock symbol ? will indicate the screen is locked. To unlock, switch the unit off and on again.
Connection and Power
The Elinchrom ONE is designed for optimal performance within specific environmental conditions.
Operating Conditions
The ONE should only be used between -10°C and 40°C. Charging the ONE is recommended only between 0°C and 40°C.
USB-C Socket
The USB-C socket serves for both charging the internal Li-Ion battery and performing firmware updates.
USB-C Charger
Always use the original Elinchrom One USB Charger for recharging. The side logo color indicates the charging status when the unit is OFF:
- Red ?: Recharging
- Orange ?: Almost charged
- Green ?: Fully charged
Recharging time to 100% is approximately 90 minutes. A fully charged battery provides between 8000 (min power) and 800 (max power) flashes.
Resetting to Default Settings
If needed, you can reset the Elinchrom ONE to its default factory settings:
- Switch the unit on and release the ON button.
- When the Elinchrom logo appears, immediately press and hold both the "ON" and "Menu" buttons for 4 seconds.
- The display will show "Reload all default parameters", confirming the reset process has begun.

Control Panel and Touch Screen Interaction
The Elinchrom ONE features a responsive touch screen and a main control button.
Control Panel / Touch Screen
The main control button allows for power management and display switching:
- Long press: Power ON/OFF ?
- Short press: Switch display to Lock on / Flash / Modelling Lamp / LED colour temperature ?️
- Swipe left/right: Change values (e.g., power, settings) ↔️
- Short touch: Access and change specific settings like colour temperature ?
- Swipe down: Access the modelling lamp menu ⬇️
Display Panel – Dashboard
The dashboard provides an overview of the unit's status and settings.
Group colors correspond to the selected group number: blue for group 1 ?, yellow for group 2 ?, red for group 3 ?, and green for group 4 ?. The Elinchrom logo on the side of the unit illuminates with the color of the selected group.
Key indicators on the display include:
- 1. Group 1-4 selection
- 2. Modelling lamp menu access
- 3. Battery status ?
- 4. Favorite Function (default setting is Modelling Lamp on/off)
- 5. Power value
Modelling Lamp
Adjust the modelling lamp settings easily:
- To access the modelling lamp menu, swipe down on the screen. ⬇️
- Swipe left or right to change values such as brightness or color temperature. ↔️
- A short touch on the screen allows direct access and modification of the color temperature. ?
