How to Move the Elliptical
Moving this elliptical requires two persons due to its size and weight. Take measures to avoid damaging your floor. Stand in front, hold the upright (C), place one foot against a wheel (D). Pull on the upright while a second person lifts the handle (E) to roll the elliptical on its wheels. Carefully move to the desired location and lower it.
Diagram for Moving: Shows points C (upright), D (wheel), and E (handle) involved in moving the elliptical.
The Optional Tablet Holder
The optional tablet holder (B) securely holds your tablet for use during exercise. It is designed for most full-size tablets. To purchase, see the front cover of this manual.

How to Adjust the Reed Switch
If the console does not display correct feedback, adjust the reed switch. First, unplug the power adapter.
Locate the Reed Switch (38). Turn the Pulley (19) until a Magnet (43) aligns with the Reed Switch.
Diagram for Reed Switch Adjustment: Shows components like Pulley (19), Magnet (43), and Reed Switch (38).
Slightly loosen the two #8 x 1/2" Screws (50). Slide the Reed Switch (38) closer to or away from the Magnet (43), then retighten the screws.
Plug in the power adapter and rock the Pulley (19) back and forth so the Magnet (43) repeatedly passes the Reed Switch (38). Repeat until feedback is correct. Reattach the left disc and plug in the power adapter.

Exercise Guidelines
❗ WARNING: Before beginning this or any exercise program, consult your physician. This is especially important for persons over age 35 or persons with pre-existing health problems.
These guidelines help plan your exercise program. For detailed information, consult a reputable book or your physician. Proper nutrition and rest are essential for success.
Exercise Intensity
Exercising at the proper intensity is key to achieving results for fat burning or cardiovascular strengthening. Use heart rate as a guide. The chart below shows recommended heart rates for fat burning and aerobic exercise.
Find your age at the bottom of the chart (rounded to nearest ten years). The three numbers above your age define your "training zone": lowest for fat burning, middle for maximum fat burning, highest for aerobic exercise.
Burning Fat: Exercise at low intensity for sustained periods. Body uses carbs first, then stored fat. Adjust intensity to match the lowest number in your training zone for fat burning, or the middle number for maximum fat burning.
Aerobic Exercise: To strengthen the cardiovascular system, perform aerobic exercise (high oxygen demand for prolonged periods). Adjust intensity to match the highest number in your training zone.
Heart Rate Chart: Shows age ranges at the bottom and corresponding heart rate zones for fat burning, max fat burning, and aerobic exercise.
How to Measure Your Heart Rate
Exercise for at least four minutes. Stop, place two fingers on your wrist, and count heartbeats for six seconds. Multiply by 10 for beats per minute (e.g., 14 beats x 10 = 140 BPM).
Diagram for Heart Rate Measurement: Shows placing fingers on the wrist to take a pulse.
Workout Guidelines
- Warming Up: 5-10 minutes of stretching and light exercise to increase body temperature, heart rate, and circulation.
- Training Zone Exercise: 20-30 minutes within your training zone heart rate. (Limit to 20 minutes in the first few weeks). Breathe deeply; never hold your breath.
- Cooling Down: 5-10 minutes of stretching to improve flexibility and prevent post-exercise issues.
Exercise Frequency
For maintenance or improvement, complete three workouts per week with at least one rest day between. After several months, up to five workouts per week may be suitable. Make exercise a regular, enjoyable part of your life.
