HOW TO USE THE ELLIPTICAL

HOW TO PLUG IN THE POWER ADAPTER

IMPORTANT: If the elliptical has been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to warm to room temperature before plugging in the power adapter (A). Failure to do so may damage the console displays or other electronic components.

Plug the power adapter (A) into the receptacle on the front of the elliptical. Then, plug the power adapter into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.

Diagram shows power adapter (A).

HOW TO MOVE THE ELLIPTICAL

Moving the elliptical requires two persons due to its size and weight. Stand in front of the elliptical, hold the upright (B), and place one foot against one of the front wheels (C). Next, pull on the upright and have a second person lift the rear stabilizer (D) until the elliptical rolls on the wheels. Carefully move the elliptical to the desired location, then lower it to the floor.

Diagram shows elliptical with upright (B), front wheel (C), and rear stabilizer (D) indicated.

HOW TO EXERCISE ON THE ELLIPTICAL

To mount the elliptical, hold the handlebars (E) or the upper body arms (F) and step onto the pedal (G) that is in the lowest position. Then, step onto the other pedal.

To dismount, wait until the pedals (G) come to a complete stop. Note: The elliptical does not have a freewheel; pedals continue to move until the flywheel stops. When pedals are stationary, step off the higher pedal first, then the lower pedal.

Push the pedals (G) until they move with a continuous motion. Note: Pedal discs can turn in either direction. It is recommended to move pedal discs in the direction shown by the arrow, but for variety, they can be turned in the opposite direction.

Diagram shows elliptical with handlebars (E), upper body arms (F), and pedals (G) indicated.

HOW TO LEVEL THE ELLIPTICAL

If the elliptical rocks slightly on your floor during use, turn one or both of the leveling feet (H) beneath the rear stabilizer until the rocking motion is eliminated.

Diagram shows leveling feet (H) under the rear stabilizer.

MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING

MAINTENANCE

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and reduces wear. Inspect and tighten all parts each time the elliptical is used. Replace worn parts immediately with manufacturer-supplied parts.

To clean, use a damp cloth and mild dish soap. IMPORTANT: Keep liquids away from the console and out of direct sunlight.

CONSOLE TROUBLESHOOTING

If the console does not turn on, ensure the power adapter is fully plugged in. For a replacement power adapter, call the number on the manual's cover. Use only manufacturer-supplied regulated power adapters.

HOW TO ADJUST THE REED SWITCH

If the console does not display correct feedback, the reed switch may need adjustment. First, unplug the power adapter. Using a screwdriver, remove the Top Shield (41). Locate the Reed Switch (53). Slightly loosen the M4 x 16mm Screw (52). Rotate the Pulley (61) until a Magnet (58) aligns with the Reed Switch (53). Slide the Reed Switch slightly toward or away from the Magnet. Retighten the M4 x 16mm Screw (52). Plug in the power adapter and rotate the Pulley briefly. Repeat until feedback is correct. Reattach the top shield and plug in the power adapter.

Diagram shows parts 41, 53, 52, 58, 61.

HOW TO ADJUST THE DRIVE BELT

If pedals slip even at the highest resistance, the drive belt may need adjustment. First, unplug the power adapter. Remove pedal arms (11, 12), pedal discs (15), and the left shield (3) as described in steps 14 and 15. Remove M4 x 16mm Screws (52) from shields (3, 4). Remove two M6 x 18mm Screws (43), then remove the Left Shield (3).

Loosen the M8 x 22mm Screw (65) and turn the M10 x 60mm Bolt (62) until the Drive Belt (19) is tight. Retighten the M8 x 22mm Screw (65). Reattach shields, pedal discs, and pedal arms. Plug in the power adapter.

Diagram shows parts 65, 62, 19.

EXERCISE GUIDELINES

⚠️ WARNING: Before beginning any exercise program, consult your physician. This is especially important for persons over age 35 or persons with pre-existing health problems.

These guidelines help plan your exercise program. For detailed information, consult a reputable book or your physician. Proper nutrition and adequate rest are essential for successful results.

EXERCISE INTENSITY

Exercising at the proper intensity is key to achieving results, whether your goal is to burn fat or strengthen your cardiovascular system. Use your heart rate as a guide. The chart below shows recommended heart rates for fat burning and aerobic exercise.

To find your intensity level, locate your age at the bottom of the chart (ages are rounded to the nearest ten years). The three numbers above your age define your "training zone": lowest for fat burning, middle for maximum fat burning, and highest for aerobic exercise.

Burning Fat: Exercise at a low intensity for a sustained period. Initially, your body uses carbohydrate calories; after a few minutes, it uses stored fat calories. For fat burning, aim for the lowest number in your training zone. For maximum fat burning, aim for the middle number.

Aerobic Exercise: To strengthen your cardiovascular system, perform aerobic exercise requiring large amounts of oxygen for prolonged periods. Adjust intensity to be near the highest number in your training zone.

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR HEART RATE

Exercise for at least four minutes. Stop, place two fingers on your wrist, count heartbeats for six seconds, and multiply by 10. (Example: 14 beats x 10 = 140 BPM).

WORKOUT GUIDELINES

  • Warming Up: Start with 5-10 minutes of stretching and light exercise to increase body temperature, heart rate, and circulation.
  • Training Zone Exercise: Exercise for 20-30 minutes within your training zone (limit to 20 minutes in the first few weeks). Breathe regularly; do not hold your breath.
  • Cooling Down: Finish with 5-10 minutes of stretching to increase flexibility and prevent post-exercise problems.

EXERCISE FREQUENCY

Complete three workouts each week, with at least one rest day between. After a few months, you may increase to five workouts weekly. Make exercise a regular and enjoyable part of your life.
