Mounting and Connecting the Device
This section describes the physical connections and controls of the LANCOM ISG-1000.
Device Ports and Controls
- a USB interface: For connecting USB printers or USB storage devices.
- b Serial configuration interface: Use the included serial cable to connect to a configuration/monitoring device.
- c SFP / TP Ethernet interfaces (combo ports): For inserting SFP modules and connecting compatible cables. SFP modules and cables are not included.
- d TP Ethernet interfaces (ETH 1 - ETH 4): Connect to a PC or LAN switch using enclosed kiwi-colored cables.
- e TP Ethernet interface (ETH 5): Connect to a PC or LAN switch using an enclosed kiwi-colored cable.
- f Reset button: Press for up to 5 seconds for a device restart. Press until first LED flash for configuration reset and restart.
- g Power connector and grounding point (device back side): Supply power via the power connector using the supplied IEC power cable.
- h Grounding: [Attention] High touch current possible! Connect to earth before connecting the power supply. Remove the blind screw and use the enclosed grounding screw.
Setup Recommendations
Please observe the following when setting up the device:
- The mains plug must be freely accessible.
- For desktop operation, attach the adhesive rubber footpads.
- Do not rest objects on the device or stack multiple devices.
- Keep ventilation slots clear.
- Mount the device into a 19" unit in a server cabinet using provided screws and brackets.
[Important] Before initial startup, consult the installation guide for intended use. Operate the device only with a professionally installed power supply at a nearby, accessible power socket.
LED Status Indicators
The following table details the status of the device's LEDs:
POWER LED Status

Green, permanently* | Device operational, or device paired/claimed and LANCOM Management Cloud (LMC) accessible |
Green / red, blinking | No password set. Configuration data is unprotected. |
Red, blinking | Charge or time limit reached |
1x green inverse blinking* | Connection to LMC active, pairing OK, device not claimed |
2x green inverse blinking* | Pairing error, or LMC activation code not available |
3x green inverse blinking* | LMC not accessible, or communication error |
[Note] *Additional power LED statuses are displayed in 5-second rotation if the device is managed by LANCOM Management Cloud.
TEMP LED Status
Status | Description |
---|---|
Green, permanently | CPU temperature OK |
Red, blinking | Hardware failure of the fan or CPU temperature too high; additional acoustic signal. |
LCD Display
The LCD display rotates through the following information:
- Device name
- Firmware version
- Device temperature
- Date and time
- CPU load
- Memory usage
- Number of VPN tunnels
- Data transfer in reception direction
- Data transfer in transmission direction

License information for the device firmware (LCOS) is available via the device's WEBconfig interface under “Extras > License information”.
