General Use
- Inspect the scale before use. Do not use the scale if it is damaged in any way.
- Do not strike or step on the scale.

Setting Up the VeSync App
Note: The VeSync app is constantly improving and may change over time. If there are discrepancies, follow the instructions in the app.
Requires a device to run the app, Wi-Fi or mobile data, and iOS version 15 or Android version 8 (or higher). Standard data and messaging rates may apply. Registration is required.
- Download the VeSync App: Scan the QR code or search for "VeSync" in the Apple App Store® or Google Play Store.
For Android™ users: Select "Allow" in the "Permission Request" to use VeSync.
- Open the VeSync App: Log in or register.
Note: You must create your own VeSync account to use third-party services and products. These will not work with a guest app. The VeSync app also allows your family and friends to connect to this smart scale.
- Set up your smart scale: Follow the in-app instructions.
Note: Location services must be enabled when connecting your phone to the smart scale. This is required to establish the Bluetooth® connection. You can turn off location services after the connection between your smart scale and the VeSync app is established.
Creating a User
Important: Entering inaccurate information will lead to less accurate scale measurements. If you are a new user, you must enter physical information before your first weigh-in so the scale can calculate your body composition.
Note: If you cannot identify with the available gender options (or are unsure), select the option that best suits you. This selection will be used for body composition measurements, such as body fat percentage.
The scale always displays up to 4 user IDs simultaneously. You can select which users to display or manage additional user profiles in the app’s device settings.
Before First Use
- Open the battery compartment located under the scale.
- Remove the insulating strip from the battery compartment.
Note: If the scale does not turn on, the batteries may need to be replaced (see "Replacing Batteries", page 11).
Using the Smart Scale
Note:
- Placing the scale on soft surfaces like a shag carpet may lead to inaccurate measurements or tipping.
- The scale uses calibration-free technology, so you do not need to recalibrate it after replacing the batteries.
Weighing in Standard Mode
In Standard Mode, 13 biometric data points are captured using the VeSync app. It is recommended to use the scale in Standard Mode to take full advantage of its features. In this mode, your scale measures and tracks the following biometric data:
- Weight
- BMI
- BMR
- Body Fat
- Muscle Mass
- Skeletal Muscle
- Protein
- Subcutaneous Fat
- Body Water
- Bone Mass
- Fat-Free Body Weight
- Visceral Fat
- Metabolic Age
- Ensure your scale is connected to the VeSync app (see page 8).
- For best results, place the scale on a hard, flat surface.
- Step onto the scale with dry, bare feet on the conductive areas. Remain on the scale to see your calculated biometric data.
Note:
- If you wear shoes, the scale can only measure your weight. To measure other biometric data, such as body fat percentage, you must step on the scale with bare feet.
- If this is not your first time stepping on the scale, the increase/decrease indicators will appear on the display, allowing you to track your progress compared to your previous biometric results.
Weighing in Manual Mode
In Manual Mode, you can use the scale without the VeSync app. In Manual Mode, your scale measures and tracks only 4 biometric data points:
- Weight
- BMI
- Body Fat
- Muscle Mass
Note:
- To access additional smart features and record your health data, connect the scale to the VeSync app (see page 8).
- In Manual Mode, you can still connect the scale to the VeSync app without switching the Standard/Manual Mode switch.
- Slide the Standard/Manual Mode switch (located under the scale) to the right to activate Manual Mode.
Note: The scale defaults to Standard Mode upon first opening.
- For best results, place the scale on a hard, flat surface.
- Tap the SET button. Enter your gender, age, and height using the ▲ and ▼ buttons, then tap SET before stepping on the scale.
- Wait for "STEPON" to appear on the display.
- Step onto the scale with dry, bare feet on the conductive areas. Continue standing on the scale to view your biometric data (Weight, BMI, Body Fat, and Muscle Mass).
Weighing Modes
- Zero-Current Mode: Turns off the scale's electrical current and provides only weight and BMI measurements. This mode can be helpful for pregnant users or users with implanted medical devices like pacemakers. To activate Zero-Current Mode, press and hold the UNIT button on the bottom of the scale for 5 seconds. The display will show ⚡ to indicate Zero-Current Mode is active.
Note: You can also enable Zero-Current Mode within the VeSync app.
- Baby Mode: In Baby Mode, only weight and BMI are measured; other biometric data is not captured. This mode can be helpful for users who wish to weigh their baby or pet. To activate Baby Mode, ensure your scale is connected to the VeSync app and follow the instructions in the app.
Note: You can only enable Baby Mode within the VeSync app.
Switching Units
- To switch between pounds (lb), kilograms (kg), and stone (st), press the UNIT button on the bottom of the scale.
- Optionally, you can also change the unit of measurement in the VeSync app.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Smart Scale
- Use a slightly damp cloth to clean the scale's surface, then a soft, dry cloth to wipe away any residual moisture.
- Do not use any chemical or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the scale.
Replacing Batteries
When the batteries need to be replaced, the display will show ?.
- Open the battery compartment located under the scale.
- Remove the old batteries and dispose of them properly.
- Insert 4 new 1.5V AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity.
- Replace the battery compartment cover.
Note: The scale uses calibration-free technology, so you do not need to recalibrate it after replacing the batteries.

When I step on the scale, it does not respond.
- The scale may need to be reset. Press and hold the UNIT button for 15 seconds to reset the scale.
- You may need to restart the scale. Remove and reinsert the batteries to restart the scale.
Information flashes on the display and then disappears.
- The batteries are low and may need to be replaced.
The Smart Scale’s Bluetooth connection cannot be established with the VeSync app.
- Ensure your phone’s operating system is iOS® 15.0+ or Android™ 8.0+.
- Close and reopen the VeSync app. Ensure you are using the latest version.
- Make sure Bluetooth is turned on on your phone. For Android™ users, ensure location services are also enabled.
- Ensure your scale and phone are within 10 meters (33 feet) of each other.
- Ensure the scale is not currently connected to another phone or app.
- The scale should only connect to your phone via the VeSync app. Do not connect the scale through your phone’s Bluetooth settings.
- Ensure all VPN apps are turned off.
If the smart scale still cannot connect via Bluetooth, try the following:
- Restart Bluetooth or restart your smartphone.
- Press and hold the UNIT button for 15 seconds to reset the scale.
- Tap the "Disconnected" button at the top of the weighing screen in the VeSync app for troubleshooting tips.
If the problem persists, please contact our helpful Customer Service team (see page 19).
The scale’s readings seem unstable or inaccurate.
- Ensure the scale is placed on a hard, flat surface.
- The scale may need to be reset. Press and hold the UNIT button for 15 seconds to reset the scale.
Note: After resetting the scale, all data will be lost.
Troubleshooting (Cont.)
My scale only measures my weight, not other biometric data.
- If you are wearing shoes or socks, the scale cannot measure biometric data such as body fat. Step on the scale with bare feet.
- Ensure your bare feet are placed on the scale’s conductive areas.
- Ensure the scale is connected to the VeSync app, depending on which biometric data you wish to view (see "Setting Up the VeSync App", page 8).
- Check if you are in Standard Mode or Manual Mode. In Manual Mode, the scale only displays weight, BMI, body fat, and muscle mass.
- Check if Zero-Current Mode is activated. If it is, the scale will only provide measurements for weight and BMI, not other biometric data.
If your problem is not listed, please contact Customer Service (see page 19).
