It is forbidden to remove any part of the standard configuration to reduce weight or increase performance, unless otherwise indicated in these technical regulations. The kill switch must remain installed. A stopwatch (GPS) is allowed; it is permitted to record data, but the use of external sensors not standard on the motorcycle is prohibited. The addition of anti-shock protections on the front fork caps and the exhaust silencer is permitted.
2.11.2. Technical Control and ECU
Each motorcycle must have been tested on a dynamometer before the start of the season at a location designated by the Yamaha R3 BLU CRU Cup organization. The motorcycle will undergo a power test to optimize the mapping so that all riders use the same mapping. The motorcycle will also be sealed. For riders who purchased a new motorcycle for the 2025 season from the Yamaha R3 BLU CRU Cup organization, this service is free of charge. Motorcycles from model years 2019-2025 and/or a motorcycle not supplied by the cup organization are permitted as long as they comply with the regulations. From the 2024 season, only original ECUs will be used. Models from 2023 or earlier must be modified by Ten Kate Racing with the installation of the Cordona Quickshifter. The costs of this modification are borne by the participants. Yamaha Benelux will provide an original ECU on loan if the rider does not have an original ECU. Furthermore, a dynamometer test will be carried out at Ten Kate Racing to adjust and seal the mapping and ECU. The unsealing of motorcycles is only possible upon rider request to the Yamaha R3 BLU CRU Cup organization and must be done under the supervision of the Yamaha R3 BLU CRU Cup organization. Any violation of this procedure will result in a loss of points in the standings, from the moment the motorcycle was sealed. The decision of the Yamaha R3 BLU CRU Cup organization is always binding. At any time, motorcycles may be subjected to random dynamometer tests. Any technical violation found on a sealed/marked machine will result in a total loss of points obtained by the rider since the sealing/marking. The decision of the Yamaha R3 BLU CRU Cup organization is always binding.
2.11.3 Cooling System
The only permitted engine coolant is water. Grilles/protections may be added to the oil and/or water radiators. The radiator fan may be removed.
2.11.4 Airbox
The air filter element may be adjusted or replaced with a K&N, but it must not be removed and must be mounted in its original position. The airbox drains must be sealed. All motorcycles must have a closed ventilation system. All oil ventilation pipes must be connected and terminate in the airbox. No thermal protection should be added to the airbox. The air intake tube (rubber) may be removed (see diagram below). The airbox cover can be opened to improve airflow.

2.11.5 Fuel System
A fuel purge system is permitted. Fuel lines from the tank to the fuel line may be replaced, provided they are installed in a way that protects them from damage in case of a fall. Quick connectors or dry-break connectors may be used. Fuel vent hoses may be replaced. Fuel filters may be added.
2.11.6 Brakes
Front and rear brake pads may be replaced. The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) must be removed, and a YZF-R3 ABS emulator must be installed. Motorcycles must be equipped with a brake lever protection, designed to protect the brake lever on the handlebar and prevent accidental activation during contact with another motorcycle. The organizer's chief technical official reserves the right to refuse any protection that does not meet this safety objective. Brake caliper bolts may be replaced with caliper bolts already equipped with a locking device. Remark: only steel bolts are permitted. Locking of caliper bolts is not mandatory.
2.11.7 Handlebar and manual controls
Clip-on handlebars may be replaced (except the main front brake master cylinder). The handlebar and manual controls may be moved. Throttle grips must close on their own if not held by hand. The throttle assembly and associated cables must not be modified or replaced; the connection to the throttle body and the throttle grips must remain as on the homologated motorcycle. The installation of a quick throttle is permitted. The throttle grip must have an opening cable and a closing cable. Clutch and brake levers may be replaced with an aftermarket model. A adjuster on the brake lever is permitted.
2.11.8 Fairing/screen
The permitted fairings are: The S2 Concept fairing kit. For cost reasons, it is not mandatory to fit these fairings on used Yamaha R3s that are not equipped with them, but the rider must ensure that the motorcycle respects the design. Any other fairing than the S2 Concept kit must comply with the following criteria: The fairing must be a cosmetic copy of the original parts, but for racing use, slight differences are permitted (mixing of different parts, fixing points, fairing bottom, etc.). The use of carbon fiber or carbon-based composite materials is not permitted. Specific reinforcements in Kevlar® or carbon are tolerated locally around openings and stressed areas. The overall dimensions must correspond to those of the original part, with a tolerance of ±5 mm. The design and characteristics of the homologated fairing must be respected as much as possible. The total width of the frontal area must not exceed +5 mm. The decision of the organization's Chief Technical Official is final. The fairing bottom must be designed to contain at least 4 liters in case of engine failure. The screen may be replaced by an aftermarket product. The height of the screen is free within a tolerance of ±15 mm relative to the vertical distance to the upper headstock. The profile of the screen must correspond to that of the original part when viewed from the front – no double bubble or wide model. Viewed from above, the length of the windshield can be shortened by 25 mm to provide space for the rider. The edges of the screen must be rounded.
2.11.9 Saddle
The choice of saddle foam is free. It is also permitted to move the saddle back to provide more space on the motorcycle.
2.11.10 Wheels
The wheels must retain the original design and color. Wheel axle spacers may be modified or replaced. Angled aluminum or steel valves are recommended.
2.11.11 Footrests and brake/gearshift controls
Footrests and plates may be replaced and moved, but the new parts must be fixed to the original frame mounting points. Gear selectors and the rear brake pedal must be operated with the foot. Footrests may be fixed or foldable. If foldable, a device must allow them to return to their normal position. The end of the footrest must have a full radius of at least 8 mm. Non-foldable footrests must be equipped with a permanently fixed tip, made of aluminum, plastic, Teflon®, or an equivalent material (minimum radius of 8 mm). The Chief Technical Official of the organization reserves the right to refuse any footrest that does not meet this safety objective.
2.11.12 Rear safety light / rain light
All motorcycles must be equipped with a functional red light mounted at the rear of the machine. This light should only be on during practice or racing on a wet track, or on instruction from Race Control. The lighting must meet the following conditions: The direction of the beam must be parallel to the central axis of the machine (direction of motorcycle travel) and clearly visible from the rear, with a minimum angle of 15 degrees on each side of this axis. The rear light must be mounted near the end of the machine's saddle. The power/luminous output should be approximately: 10–15 W (bulbs), 0.6–1.8 W (LED). The light must remain permanently on (no flashing of the safety light) on the track; flashing is permitted in the pit lane when the speed limiter is active. The power supply for the safety light may be separate from the motorcycle's. In case of disagreement regarding the mounting position or visibility, the decision of the Chief Technical Official of the organization is final.
2.11.13 Fuel and fuel tank
Only standard unleaded gasoline, available at public gas stations and conforming to DIN EN228 with a maximum octane rating of 102 RON, may be used. The use of special competition fuels and/or fuel additives is not permitted, even if they comply with FIM fuel regulations. The fuel tank must be completely filled with an anti-explosion material such as Explosafe.
2.11.14 Chain / sprockets
Gearing may be modified. The transmission (front and rear sprockets) may be modified to optimize the ratio. The chain size must remain the same.
2.11.15 The following parts may be modified or replaced compared to those fitted on the homologated motorcycle:
- All types of lubrication, brake, or suspension fluids may be used.
- Protections for the frame, chain guard, and footrests may be made from other materials, such as composite materials, provided that these parts do not replace the original parts fitted on the homologated model.
- For easier maintenance of the rear wheel, the chain guard may be removed.
- The "shark-fin" type protection for the rear sprocket must be installed.
2.11.16 Design
The design and sticker set of all motorcycles must be identical, in accordance with the prescribed visual charter. The sticker set must be ordered and will be provided by the Yamaha R3 BLU CRU Cup organization. Specific placements for private sponsors are provided. In the appendix, you will find an example of a free layout for private sponsors. Rim stripes or additional colors on the rims are not permitted. Specific areas on the upper part of the fairing may receive a color of your choice to facilitate identification (see appendix). Other colors must remain those of the motorcycle delivered new by Yamaha. In case of a fall damaging the official Cup sponsor stickers, they must be replaced. The rider's name sticker must be affixed to the upper edge of the screen or at the rear of the saddle. Any additional communication on the motorcycle may only be placed on the locations defined by the Yamaha R3 BLU CRU Cup organization. Stickers of private sponsors or any competing references to Yamaha R3 Cup sponsors are not permitted. In case of doubt, consult the Yamaha R3 Cup organization. Their decision is final. The installation of cameras is only permitted after consultation with the Yamaha R3 BLU CRU organization.
2.11.17 Tires
The Yamaha R3 must, during race weekends, qualifications, and competitions, be equipped with Pirelli superbike slick tires. These are available via www.circuitshop.nl, which will also provide tire service at the circuit during events. The mandatory fee for the circuit shop is €206 net. Dry: Pirelli Superbike Slick SC1. Front mounting: 110/70-17 SC1. Rear mounting: 140/70-17 SC1. Wet: Pirelli Superbike Rain SCR1. Front mounting: 110/70-17 SCR1. Rear mounting: 140/70-17 SCR1.
