Introduction
This document contains important technical and safety information about the Shelly Wall Display device, its safe use, and installation. Please read this guide and any accompanying documents carefully before use. Failure to follow installation procedures may lead to malfunction, danger to health and life, legal violations, or loss of warranty. Shelly Europe Ltd. is not responsible for any loss or damage due to incorrect installation or improper operation.
CAUTION! Danger of electrocution. Installation to the power grid must be performed by a qualified electrician. Ensure no voltage is present at the terminals before making any changes.
Use the device only with a power grid and appliances that comply with all applicable regulations. Short circuits may damage the device. Do not connect appliances exceeding the given maximum load.
RECOMMENDATION: Use solid single-core cables or stranded cables with ferrules. Cables should have insulation with increased heat resistance (min. PVC T105°C / 221°F).
The device and load circuit must be secured by a cable protection switch in accordance with EN60898-1 (tripping characteristic B or C, max. 5 A rated current, min. 6 kA interrupting rating, energy limiting class 3).
Before installation, check that breakers are off and there is no voltage on their terminals using a phase tester or multimeter.
Product Introduction
Shelly® is a line of innovative microprocessor-managed devices allowing remote control of electric circuits via mobile phone, tablet, PC, or home automation system. Shelly devices can operate standalone in a local Wi-Fi network or through cloud home automation services. Shelly Cloud is accessible via Android/iOS mobile app or web browser at https://control.shelly.cloud/. Devices can be accessed, controlled, and monitored remotely from any location with internet connectivity, provided they are connected to a Wi-Fi router and the internet.
Shelly devices have an Embedded Web Interface accessible at http://192.168.33.1 (when connected to the device's access point) or at the device's IP address on the local Wi-Fi network. This interface allows monitoring, control, and settings adjustment.
An API is provided by Shelly Europe Ltd. for more information, visit https://shelly-api-docs.shelly.cloud/#shelly-family-overview.
Devices are delivered with factory-installed firmware. Shelly Europe Ltd. provides free firmware updates (including security updates) via the Embedded Web Interface or the Shelly mobile app. The user is solely responsible for installing these updates.
The Shelly Wall Display is a smart home control panel featuring a color display and load circuit switching functionality.
Installation Instructions
CAUTION! Danger of electrocution. Mounting/installation of the Device to the power grid must be performed with caution by a qualified electrician.
CAUTION! Danger of electrocution. Every change in the connections must be done after ensuring there is no voltage present at the Device terminals.
CAUTION! Use the Device only with a power grid and appliances that comply with all applicable regulations. A short circuit may damage the device.
CAUTION! Do not connect the Device to appliances exceeding the given max load!
CAUTION! Connect the Device only as shown in these instructions. Any other method could cause damage and/or injury.
CAUTION! Do not install the Device where it can get wet.
RECOMMENDATION: Connect the Device using solid single-core cables or stranded cables with ferrules. Cables should have insulation with increased heat resistance, not less than PVC T105°C (221°F).
CAUTION! The Device and the load current circuit must be secured by a cable protection switch in accordance with EN60898-1 (tripping characteristic B or C, max. 5 A rated current, min. 6 kA interrupting rating, energy limiting class 3).
Before starting the mounting/installation, check that the breakers are turned off and there is no voltage on their terminals (use a phase tester or multimeter). Once confirmed, proceed with connecting the wires.
- Connect the wires to the power module (Fig. 2.A) according to the wiring diagram (Fig. 1). Connect the Live wire to the Device L terminal and the Neutral wire to the N terminal.
- Connect a switch or button to the Device SW terminal and the Live wire.
- Insert the power module (Fig. 3.A) with the wires into the wall box (Fig. 3.B) and fix it with the two supplied screws (Fig. 3.C).
- Remove the screw (Fig. 4.A) at the bottom of the display module (Fig. 4.B).
- Attach the display module (Fig. 5.A) by pressing it against the power module (Fig. 5.B) until you hear a click. CAUTION! Be very careful not to bend the header pins (Fig. 5.C) when inserting them into the display module header connector.
- Replace the screw (Fig. 5.D) into the display module and fasten it to prevent accidental detachment.
