Shelly Wall Switch WS
User and Safety Manual
Introduction
This document contains important technical and safety information about the Shelly Wall Switch WS device and its safe use and installation.
⚠️ CAUTION! Please read this manual and all other documents accompanying the device carefully and completely before starting the installation. Failure to follow installation procedures may lead to malfunction, endanger your health and life, violate the law, or void the legal and/or commercial warranty (if applicable). Allterco Robotics is not responsible for any loss or damage in case of incorrect installation or incorrect operation of this device due to failure to follow the user and safety instructions provided in this manual.
Shelly wall switches should be used in combination with Shelly devices or other smart devices designed to work with similar switches. The potential between the Power and Switch input on controlled devices should not exceed 12V (for Shelly devices, this is 3.3V). The Shelly Wall Switch cannot be used to switch the main power supply over any type of load.
**CAUTION!** Risk of electric shock.
The device's assembly/installation should be performed by a qualified person (electrician).
Safety and Usage Guidelines
- Do not connect the device to appliances exceeding the specified maximum load!
- Use the device only with the electrical network and devices that comply with all applicable regulations. A short circuit in the electrical network or any appliance connected to the device may damage the device.
- Before starting, check the wiring, ensure the circuit breakers are off, and there is no voltage on their terminals. This can be done with a phase tester or multimeter. Once you are sure there is no voltage, you can begin connecting the cables.
Specifications
Parameter | Value |
---|---|
Maximum switching potential | 12V DC / 18V AC |
Maximum switching current | 50mA |
Maximum power supply | 230V |
Operating temperature | -20°C to 70°C |
Operating humidity | up to 85% |
Electrical Installation
Each cable has a color code:
- Red – Power
- Black – Switch 1
- Blue – Switch 2
- Green – Switch 3
- White – Switch 4
[Symbol indicating that a specific electrical connection is prohibited, shown as a red circle with a diagonal line over a diagram of N, L, and a device.]
Assembly
- Connect the red cable to L on the switch to the same power voltage/phase as the Shelly device or the Sx output.
- Connect outputs O1 to OX to the Shelly device inputs according to the color scheme.
- Insert the switch into the wall and tighten it with screws to the bracket. Do not overtighten, as this could deform the frame and jam the switch position.
- Attach the decorative frame to the already installed switch and press until both parts are firmly connected.
Wiring Examples and Diagrams
Image of the Shelly Wall Switch WS, a white, rectangular wall-mounted electrical switch with two toggle buttons.
Diagram 1 (Shelly 1PM): Wiring diagram showing a single-pole switch connected to a Shelly 1PM device. Line (L) and Neutral (N) are connected to the Shelly 1PM. The switch's input is connected to L, and its output (O1) is connected to the load. The Shelly 1PM also connects to the load.
Diagram 2 (Shelly 2.5): Wiring diagram showing two single-pole switches connected to a Shelly 2.5 device. Line (L) and Neutral (N) are connected to the Shelly 2.5. Switch 1 connects to L and its output (O1) to Load 1. Switch 2 connects to L and its output (O2) to Load 2. The Shelly 2.5 also connects to both loads.
Diagram 3 & 4 (Shelly 1L): Wiring diagrams for the Shelly 1L device. These show a single-pole switch connected to the Shelly 1L, with connections for Line (L) and Neutral (N) to the device, and the switch's output (O1) to the load. A 'BYPASS' connection is also indicated in one diagram.
Diagram 5 (Shelly 1PM): Another wiring example for the Shelly 1PM device, demonstrating the connection of a single switch to control a load via the Shelly 1PM.
Dimension Drawings: Technical drawings illustrating the physical dimensions of various Shelly device mounting frames and switch modules. These include measurements for width, height, and depth, showing how different Shelly devices fit into standard electrical boxes.

- O2 – Switch 2;
- O3 – Switch 3;
- O4 – Switch 4
Connecting multiple switches to one device: You can connect an infinite number of switches to control the same device; for this purpose, they must be wired in parallel.
