Register your product at www.numark.com for updates and support.
Setup
For PC Users
Install Necessary Drivers:
- Insert the installation disc into your computer's CD-ROM drive. Do not connect the iDJ3 yet.
- Open the CD to view its contents.
- Open the folder titled "1. Drivers – INSTALL THIS FIRST."
- Double-click the file matching your operating system (32-bit or 64-bit Windows).
- Select your preferred language.
- Click "Install the driver."
- Read the User Agreement, select "I accept the agreement," then click "Install."
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Once installation is complete, restart your computer. Click "Reboot Now" or "Reboot Later."
Install the Cross Software:
- Insert the software CD into your computer's CD/DVD drive.
- Open the CD contents and double-click "Install Cross – iDJ3 #.exe" (where # is the software version number).
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
To Start Using iDJ3:
- Connect the iDJ3 to an available USB port on your computer (preferably a rear panel port).
- Open Cross by double-clicking its desktop icon or navigating via Start ▶️ All Programs ▶️ MixVibes ▶️ Cross.
For more information on using Cross, consult the manual on the CD (Start ▶️ All Programs ▶️ MixVibes ▶️ Cross). The manual is a .pdf document.
For Mac Users
Install Necessary Drivers:
- Insert the installation disc into your computer's CD-ROM drive. Do not connect the iDJ3 yet.
- Open the CD to view its contents.
- Open the folder titled "1. Drivers – INSTALL THIS FIRST."
- Double-click the file matching your operating system (Mac).
- Double-click "Install iDJ3" to begin the installation.
- Click "Continue" on the screen that appears.
- Select your hard drive as the installation destination and click "Continue."
- Click "Install" to begin.
- Enter your password and click "OK."
- A warning will appear stating that a restart is required. Select "Continue Installation" to proceed.
- Click "Restart" to complete the installation. After the computer restarts, plug in the iDJ3.
Install the Cross Software:
- Insert the software CD into your computer's CD/DVD drive.
- Open the CD contents and double-click "Cross – iDJ3 #.dmg" (where # is the software version number).
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
To Start Using iDJ3:
- Connect the iDJ3 to an available USB port on your computer (preferably a rear panel port).
- Open Cross by double-clicking its desktop icon or navigating via Applications ▶️ MixVibes.

Top Panel Features
The top panel of the Numark iDJ3 features two decks with various controls for music playback and mixing. The layout is mirrored for each deck.
Deck Controls (Each Deck):
Key Controls:
- 1. HEADPHONES
- Connect 1/4" headphones for cueing and mix monitoring.
- 2. MIC INPUT
- Connect a 1/4" microphone.
- 3. MIC GAIN
- Adjusts the microphone signal level.
- 4. MASTER VOLUME
- Adjusts the output volume of the Program mix.
- 5. CUE VOLUME
- Adjusts the audio level of the Cue channel.
- 6. CUE SOURCE
- Selects the audio sent to the headphones. Options: "MASTER" (Program mix), "A/B" (Decks A & B), "iPod."
- 7. A/B CUE
- Sends pre-fader, pre-EQ audio to the Cue Channel for headphone monitoring.
- 8. BROWSE KNOB
- Turn to scroll through tracks and directories. Press to enter a selected directory. Press BACK to go up a level. LED indicates FOLDER or FILE selection.
- 9. LOAD A / LOAD B
- Press to assign the selected track to Deck A or Deck B.
- 10. CHANNEL FADER
- Adjusts the audio level for the corresponding channel.
- 11. CROSSFADER
- Blends audio between Decks A and B. Left moves to Deck A, right to Deck B.
Central Controls:
- 12. DOCK
- Connect your iPod here. Gently rock to attach/detach.
- 13. DOCK ADJUSTER
- Turn to secure the docked iPod.
- 14. JOG WHEEL
- Rotates to bend pitch when playing. Scratches when SCRATCH mode is on. Scans track when not playing.
- 15. SCRATCH
- Toggles Scratch Mode on/off. Button lights up when active.
- 16. WARP
- Toggles through software pitch fader modes.
- 17. PLAY / PAUSE
- Starts, resumes, or pauses playback.
- 18. STUTTER
- Press to jump to the last cue point, creating a "stutter" effect.
- 19. CUE
- Returns to and pauses at the last set cue point. Hold for temporary playback; release to return to cue point. Hold with PLAY/PAUSE to start playback from cue point.
- 20. SYNC
- Automatically matches tempo with the other deck.
- 21. PITCH FADER
- Controls track playback speed. LED lights up at 0%.
- 22. PITCH BEND ( + / – )
- Press or hold to temporarily adjust playback speed. Returns to PITCH FADER setting when released.
- 23. CHANNEL BASS
- Adjusts low (bass) frequencies for the channel.
- 24. CHANNEL MID
- Adjusts mid-range frequencies for the channel.
- 25. CHANNEL TREBLE
- Adjusts high (treble) frequencies for the channel.
- 26. EQ KILL SWITCH
- Press to remove a frequency band (Bass, Mid, or Treble). Button illuminates when active.
- 27. REVERSE PLAY
- Reverses deck playback. Press again to resume normal forward playback.
- 28. AUTOLOOP
- Automatically creates a 1, 2, 4, or 8-beat loop from the current track position.
Rear Panel Features
The rear panel provides essential connections for power, computer interface, and audio output.
- 1. CHARGE
- Connect an optional 6V-1A power adapter (not included) to charge an iPod while using the iDJ3.
- 2. USB
- This connection sends and receives control information to/from a connected computer. The unit draws power via USB.
- 3. MASTER OUTPUT (RCA)
- Use standard RCA cables to connect to a speaker or amplifier system. Output level is controlled by the MASTER VOLUME knob.
Note: To hear iPod audio, the iDJ3 must be connected to a computer via USB.
