Numark Mixtrack Pro FX User Guide
Introduction
This document provides comprehensive instructions for setting up and operating the Numark Mixtrack Pro FX DJ controller.

Setup
- Place the MixTrack Pro FX on a flat, stable surface.
- Ensure all devices are turned off and all faders and gain knobs are set to "zero".
- If using a microphone, connect it to the MixTrack Pro FX's microphone input.
- Connect the MixTrack Pro FX's outputs to power amplifiers, tape decks, and/or other audio sources.
- Plug all devices into AC power and connect the MixTrack Pro FX's USB port to a computer's USB port using the included USB cable.
- When powering everything on, power on your devices in the following order: (1) Your computer, (2) any amplifiers, speakers, or output devices.
- Locate the Serato DJ Lite installation card in the box to download and install the software.
- Open your software program and load music to the decks.
- Start DJ'ing!
- When powering everything off, power off your devices in the following order: (1) Any amplifiers, speakers, or output devices, (2) your computer.
Connection Diagram
The diagram illustrates the connections between the MixTrack Pro FX, computer, microphone, headphones, and speakers. Items not listed in the box contents are sold separately.

Features
Top Panel Controls
- 1. Browse Knob: Rotate to cycle through folders and tracks. Press to enter a selected folder. Hold Shift and rotate to quickly scroll.
- 2. Master Gain: Adjusts the master volume in the software. Note: This does not affect microphone volume. Use the Mic Gain knob for microphone volume.
- 3. Mic Gain: Adjusts the level for the microphone input.
- 4. Cue Mix: Adjusts headphone output, mixing between cue and master mix.
- 5. Cue Gain: Adjusts headphone cueing volume.
- 6. Master Output LEDs: Displays audio level going to the Master Output.
- 7. Load: Assigns a selected track to Deck 1 or 2. Double-press to assign the same track to both decks.
- 8. Level: Adjusts pre-fader, pre-EQ audio level of the corresponding channel.
- 9. High EQ: Controls treble frequencies for individual channels.
- 10. Mid EQ: Controls mid-range frequencies for individual channels.
- 11. Low EQ: Controls bass frequencies for individual channels.
- 12. Filter: Adjusts the filter effect amount. Turning left produces a low-pass filter, turning right produces a high-pass filter.
- 13. Cue/PFL: Sends pre-fader audio to the cue channel for headphone monitoring.
- 14. Channel Fader: Adjusts the volume of individual channels in the software.
- 15. Crossfader: Controls the blend between the two decks.
- 16. Pitch Bend Down: Press and hold to momentarily reduce track speed. Hold Shift and this button to adjust pitch range.
- 17. Pitch Bend Up: Press and hold to momentarily increase track speed. Hold Shift and this button to activate Keylock.
- 18. Pitch Fader: Controls music speed. Moving towards "+" speeds up music, towards "-" slows it down.
- 19. Beats Multiplier: Increases/decreases effect rate to the beat. Adjusts time division for time-based effects.
- 20. FX Wet/Dry Knob: Adjusts the wet/dry mix of effects.
- 21. Software FX: Press to select a software effect (HPF, LPF, Flanger, Echo, Reverb, Phaser).
- 22. FX On/Off: Toggle switch to latch FX on, momentarily activate FX, or turn FX off.
- 23. Tap BPM: Press 4+ times to manually enter BPM. Ignores track BPM. Press Shift + Tap BPM to reset to track's default BPM.
- 24. Platter/Jog Wheel: Touch-sensitive wheel for audio control. Use to bend pitch (Scratch inactive) or scratch audio (Scratch active). Outer wheel also bends pitch. Hold Shift and move wheel to quickly search audio.
- 25. Scratch: Activates scratch feature for jog wheel. Hold Shift and press to momentarily censor the track.
- 26. Shift: Enables secondary functions when pressed with other buttons.
- 27. Sync: Automatically matches deck tempo with the opposite deck. Press Shift + Sync to deactivate.
- 28. Cue (Transport Control): Sets and recalls main Cue point. Hold Cue for temporary playback; release to return to Cue point. Press Shift + Cue to return playhead to track start.
- 29. Play/Pause: Starts and suspends playback.
- 30. Cue (Pad Mode): Each pad assigns a Hot Cue Point or returns track to it. Press unlit pad to assign a Hot Cue Point.
- 31. Auto Loop (Pad Mode): Each pad triggers an auto loop of a different length. See Operation > Performance Pad Modes.
- 32. Fader Cuts (Pad Mode): Top 4 pads perform transform effects for scratching cuts. See Operation > Performance Pad Modes.
- 33. Sampler (Pad Mode): Each pad triggers a sample. See Operation > Performance Pad Modes.
- 34. Performance Pads: Top row triggers loop points/samples. Bottom row triggers Stutter, Previous Track, Search Backward, Search Forward.
- 35. Loop On/Off: Activates/deactivates auto loop. Hold Shift + Loop On/Off for reloop.
- 36. Loop 1/2: Decreases loop size by half. Hold Shift + Loop 1/2 to set Loop In point.
- 37. Loop x2: Doubles loop size. Hold Shift + Loop x2 to set Loop Out point.
Front Panel
- Headphone Output: Connect headphones to 1/4" (6.35 mm) and 1/8" (3.5 mm) jacks for monitoring. Volume controlled by Cue Gain knob.
Rear Panel
- Master Output (RCA): Connect to speakers or amplifier system using standard RCA cables.
- USB: Sends USB MIDI data for software control.
- Microphone Input: Connect a standard dynamic microphone to this 1/4" (6.35 mm) jack.
Operation
Performance Pad Modes
The top row of pads has different functions depending on the mode: Cue, Auto Loop, Fader Cuts, and Sample Mode. Select a mode by pressing the respective button, then use the upper pads.
- Cue Mode: Press Cue button, then a lit upper pad to return to a Hot Cue Point. Press an unlit upper pad to assign a Hot Cue Point.
- Auto Loop Mode: Press Auto Loop button. The upper 4 pads trigger loops:
- Auto 1: 1-beat loop. Shift + Auto 1: 1/16-beat loop roll.
- Auto 2: 2-beat loop. Shift + Auto 2: 1/8-beat loop roll.
- Auto 4: 4-beat loop. Shift + Auto 4: 1/4-beat loop roll.
- Auto 8: 8-beat loop. Shift + Auto 8: 1/2-beat loop roll.
- Fader Cuts: Pads mute/unmute deck audio, emulating crossfader movements.
- Sample Mode: Press Sampler button. Upper 4 pads play samples. Shift + upper pad stops playback or loads a sample if slot is empty.
