Use
Prepare your air conditioner for efficient operation. Ensure air intake and outlet flaps are unobstructed. The appliance features an auto-evaporation function for condensate removal.
Air Conditioning Installation
For optimal results, maintain suggested minimum clearances:
Diagrams on page 5 show recommended minimum installation clearances: 20 inches (50 cm) from the front, sides, and top, and 36 inches (90 cm) from the rear. Another diagram illustrates window installation for a double-hung window, showing the bracket placement and window lowering.
Window Installation
Double-Hung Window
1. Place the window bracket (B5) in the window sill and extend it fully within the window frame.
2. Secure the bracket by tightening the wing nut. Attach the stripping foam (B10) to the top of the bracket. Lower the window onto the bracket. If the bracket is too large, a qualified professional can cut the plastic.
3. If windows are large, use an additional bracket (B4) to cover the opening, extending it and securing with the wing nut.
4. Insert and lock the window bracket accessory (B1), already attached to the exhaust hose, into the bracket slot.
5. Ensure the hose adapter tab is straight up (like 12 o'clock) at the other end.
6. Attach the assembled hose to the back of the air conditioner.
Diagrams on pages 6 and 14-15 detail window bracket installation for double-hung and sliding windows, including extending the bracket, securing it, attaching foam, inserting the hose adapter, and positioning for sliding windows.
Sliding Windows
The locking wing nut allows use with sliding windows. Position the bracket hole in the lower corner for correct exhaust hose installation.

FCC Compliance
This equipment complies with Part 15 of FCC Rules for Class B digital devices, designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in residential installations. It generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy. If not installed/used per instructions, it may cause radio interference. If interference occurs, try relocating the antenna, increasing separation, or connecting to a different circuit. Consult dealer/technician for help. Unauthorized modifications void user authority. Operation is subject to two conditions: no harmful interference, and acceptance of received interference.
Complies with Canadian CAN ICES-3 (B) / NMB-3 (B).
FCC Responsible Party: De Longhi America, Upper Saddle River NJ 07452, 201-919-4000.
Self-Diagnosis
The appliance has a self-diagnosis system for warnings/malfunctions. Error messages appear on the display:
- LE: "Low Temperature" (Frost prevention): Equipped with an anti-frost device. Unit restarts automatically after defrosting.
- HE: "High Temperature": If operating with excessive room temperature for a long period, the unit switches to ventilate only. It restores automatically when temperature returns to normal limits.
- LH: "Low humidity": Appears in "Real Feel" mode when room humidity is extremely low. To resume, switch to any mode other than "Real Feel".
- PF: "Probe Failure" (Probe damaged): Contact customer service.
- HL: "High Level" (Internal tray full): Empty the internal safety tank following "End of season operations" instructions.
Diagrams on pages 10 and 30 show self-diagnosis error codes (LE, HE, LH, PF, HL) and their corresponding displays. A diagram on page 10 shows an obstructed air intake/outlet flap with a 'do not cover' symbol.
Tips for Correct Use
For optimal results:
- Close windows and doors. For semi-permanent installation, leave a door slightly ajar (1/2 inch / 1 cm) for ventilation.
- Do not use in very damp rooms (e.g., laundries).
- Protect room from direct sun by closing curtains/blinds for economical operation.
- Never use outdoors.
- Ensure no heat sources are in the room.
- Place on a level surface.
- Do not place objects on the unit.
- Do not obstruct air intake or outlet flaps.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Turn off and unplug the unit before cleaning or maintenance. Never use a water jet. Clean air filters regularly.
Cleaning the Cabinet
Use a slightly damp cloth, then dry with a dry cloth. Do not use petrol, alcohol, solvents, or spray insecticides.
Cleaning the Air Filter
A dirty filter reduces air circulation and efficiency. Clean the filter regularly (weekly if used constantly). The filter is in the intake grille. Remove as shown in fig. 8. Use a vacuum cleaner for dust. If very dirty, wash in lukewarm water (max 104°F), rinse, and dry completely before re-installing. The filter captures dust and pollen.
Diagrams on pages 11, 21, 30, 31 illustrate filter cleaning and end-of-season draining procedures.
Start/End of Season Checks
Start of Season Checks
Ensure power cable and plug are undamaged and the ground system is adequate. Follow installation instructions.
End of Season Operations
To drain water, remove the external cap counter-clockwise and drain into a basin (fig. 9). Replace caps when empty. Clean and dry the filter before storage. Cover the unit with the dust cover (B9) and store accessories in the bag (B8).
Technical Specifications

Service Centers Only
Wiring diagram located inside the unit.
Limit Conditions
Room temperature for air conditioning: 61°F - 95°F (16-35°C). Maximum relative humidity: 80% RH. Note: Operation outside these conditions may take longer or the unit may not reach the set temperature.
Transport, filling, cleaning, recovery, and disposal of refrigerant must be done by authorized service centers only. Dispose of the appliance via an authorized specialist center only.
Attention! To Avoid Damage:
NEVER TRANSPORT OR TURN THE APPLIANCE UPSIDE DOWN OR ON ITS SIDE. IF THIS OCCURS, WAIT 6 HOURS (24 HOURS RECOMMENDED) BEFORE TURNING ON. This allows oil to return to the compressor.
