Installation and Safety Guide
Important Safety Instructions
⚠️ WARNING: This product is intended for installation by professional installers only.
All Bose products must be used in accordance with local, state, federal, and industry regulations. The installer is responsible for ensuring installation complies with all applicable codes, including local building codes and regulations. Consult the local authority having jurisdiction before installing.
⚠️ WARNING: Unsafe mounting or overhead suspension of heavy loads can result in serious injury and equipment damage. Only professional installers with knowledge of proper hardware and safe mounting techniques should attempt overhead installation.
Guidelines for Permanent Installation:
- Prior to overhead installation, a licensed professional engineer must approve the location and method of attachment to the building structure, ensuring compliance with all codes and regulations.
- Ensure the mounting surface and method can support the total system weight (37 lb / 16.8 kg). A 10:1 safety factor is recommended.
- Obtain mounting system components from reputable manufacturers. Bose mounting accessories are recommended. Custom hardware requires review by a licensed professional engineer.
- Bose 802 Series IV Loudspeakers feature integrated M8 threaded inserts. Use only metric hardware (Class 8.8 or equivalent). Do NOT use SAE 5/16" hardware.
- Use lock washers or a locking compound (e.g., LOCTITE® THREADLOCKER BLUE 242®) for vibration-resistant assembly.
- Tighten fasteners to 50 inch-pounds (5.6 Newton-meters). Over-tightening can cause irreparable damage and create an unsafe assembly.
- Do not alter threaded attachment points.
- Use a separate safety cable attached to the cabinet at a point distinct from the load-bearing attachment points. Consult a professional for proper design and installation.
❗ CAUTION: Installed loudspeakers require regular inspection and maintenance for safe operation. Inspect mounting hardware for corrosion or damage and replace worn/damaged components immediately.
❗ CAUTION: Do not modify loudspeakers or mounting accessories. Unauthorized alterations can compromise safety and lead to damage, injury, or death.
This product conforms to all applicable EU directive requirements. The complete declaration of conformity can be found at www.Bose.com/compliance.
