Omnia Forza: Advanced Audio Processing Software

Telos Alliance presents Omnia Forza, a revolutionary software-based approach to audio processing for FM, HD, DAB, and streaming broadcasts.

Omnia Forza Overview

Omnia Forza redefines traditional five-band processor design with all-new AGCs and multiband limiters. As a software processor, it is delivered via a Docker container, offering flexible deployment on-premises, cloud-hosted, or through third-party integrations. The intuitive user interface, built around "smart controls," simplifies complex settings, making pristine audio delivery accessible to users of all expertise levels. Advanced users will find the comprehensive tools necessary to craft their signature sound.

Forza is an AoIP-native processor utilizing Livewire+AES67 standards, designed for scalable, server-based facility architectures. It is available in two base versions to suit various broadcast scenarios. For users seeking the benefits of virtualization with pre-configured hardware simplicity, up to two instances of Forza FM processing with µMPX can be pre-installed on the Telos Alliance AP-3000 platform.

Forza HDS

Forza HDS is optimized for L/R audio applications such as HD-2/3/4, DAB, and streaming. It delivers a consistent, polished audio signature without sounding overly processed. An integrated ITU-R BS.1770 loudness controller ensures compliance with streaming loudness requirements. Up to four instances of Forza HDS processing can be pre-installed on the Telos Alliance AP-3000 platform.

Forza FM

Forza FM builds on the HDS foundation, adding features crucial for FM broadcast applications, including HD-1/DAB. It incorporates the Frank Foti-designed Silvio FM clipper from Omnia.11 for a powerful on-air sound. A built-in diversity delay aids in time-aligning the FM signal to the HD-1 output. The integrated stereo generator includes RDS, with outputs supporting FM composite over IP and µMPX.

Feature-Rich Software Processing

Omnia Forza In Depth

Omnia Forza represents a departure from traditional hardware-based audio processors, being purpose-built as software. Its Docker container delivery enables flexible deployment across various environments. For those preferring pre-configured hardware, the Telos Alliance AP-3000 platform supports multiple Forza instances.

Forza HDS is tailored for L/R stereo applications like HD-2/3/4, DAB, and streaming, offering a consistent, polished, and natural sound. Its ITU-R BS.1770 loudness controller simplifies compliance with modern loudness standards.

Forza FM is optimized for FM broadcast demands, incorporating pre-emphasis curve considerations and RMS energy building. It features the Silvio clipper for robust loudness and an integrated stereo generator with RDS. Outputs include FM composite over IP and µMPX.

Approachable Enough for New Users, Powerful Enough for Processing Pros

Omnia Forza's user interface is designed to be intuitive for new users while providing the depth required by processing experts. Presets can be used directly or as starting points for custom sound creation. "Smart Controls" allow for quick adjustment of multiple parameters simultaneously via a single knob or slider.

The single-page, browser-based HTML5 GUI simplifies complex audio processing, which often involves hundreds of interrelated parameters spread across multiple screens. This design aims to overcome user intimidation and frustration, making sonic tuning more accessible.

Purpose-Built as Software

The broadcasting industry is evolving, with IT-centric departments increasingly managing digital and streaming audio. Omnia Forza was developed to meet this shift, distilling decades of processing experience into a democratized, software-first tool. Its lean, high-level control set on a single web page, powered by "smart controls," allows both inexperienced and expert users to achieve excellent results efficiently.

Omnia Forza Requirements

The following are general operational guidance for software container deployment on a Linux Server and are subject to change.

HDS Instance Requirements:

Forza FM Instance Requirements:

Forza FM is more resource-intensive than Forza HDS, requiring later-generation CPU microarchitectures. Approximately four HDS instances can run within the compute footprint of a single Forza FM instance.
