Installation Steps
Step 1: Locate Mounting Locations
Start installation toward the front of the Passenger/Right side of the vehicle. Locate the front, center, and rear mounting locations. Diagram Description (Fig 1): Shows the underside of a Jeep Wrangler JK's passenger side, indicating the front, center, and rear mounting points on the vehicle frame.
Step 2: Determine Floor Panel Type & Attach Front Bracket
Determine if the vehicle has an open floor panel or a factory threaded hole in the floor panel.
(1) Vehicles with open mounting location:
- Insert one (1) 10mm Nut Plate into the large square opening in the floor panel. Align the threaded nut with the hole between the pair of holes on the pinch weld. Diagram Description (Fig 2): Close-up of the passenger side floor panel with a 10mm Nut Plate inserted into a square opening.
- Select the Passenger/Right Front Mounting Bracket. Note: Center Brackets have a notch at the bottom, and Rear Brackets have a notch at the top. Identify brackets according to the Part List.
- Attach the Bracket to the Nut Plate using one (1) 10mm x 35mm Hex Bolt, one (1) 10mm Lock Washer, and one (1) 10mm x 34mm Flat Washer. Do not tighten hardware yet. Diagram Description (Fig 3): Illustration shows the Passenger/Right Front Mounting Bracket being attached to the 10mm Nut Plate with specified hardware.
(2) Vehicles with factory threaded hole in floor panel:
- Select the Passenger/Right Front Mounting Bracket. Attach the Bracket to the front mounting location using one (1) 8mm Hex Bolt, one (1) 8mm Lock Washer, and one (1) 8mm Flat Washer. Do not tighten hardware yet. Diagram Description (Fig 4): Close-up of the passenger side pinch weld showing a pair of holes. Diagram Description (Fig 5): Illustration shows the Passenger/Right Front Mounting Bracket being attached to a threaded hole with specified hardware.
Step 3: Attach Passenger/Right Support Bracket
Select one (1) Passenger/Right Support Bracket (#2). Attach the Support Bracket to the pinch weld using two (2) 6mm Hex Bolts, four (4) 6mm Flat Washers, and two (2) 6mm Nylon Lock Nuts. Do not tighten hardware yet. Diagram Description (Fig 6): Illustration shows the Passenger/Right Support Bracket (#2) being attached to two holes in the pinch trim using 6mm hardware.
Step 4: Attach Support Bracket to Mounting Bracket
Attach the Support Bracket to the Mounting Bracket using one (1) 10mm x 30mm Hex Bolt, two (2) 10mm x 20mm Flat Washers, and one (1) 10mm Nylon Lock Nut. Do not tighten hardware yet. Diagram Description (Fig 7): Illustration shows the Passenger/Right Support Bracket (#2) being attached to the Front Mounting Bracket with specified hardware.
Step 5: Attach Center and Rear Brackets
Repeat Steps 2 - 4 to attach the Passenger/Right Center and Rear Mounting Brackets and their corresponding Support Brackets to the center and rear locations. Note: The Center Brackets have a small notch at the Bottom, and the Rear Brackets have a notch at the Top. Please identify the Center and Rear Brackets accordingly. Do not tighten hardware yet. Diagram Description (Fig 8): Image of the passenger side frame showing the center mounting location. Diagram Description (Fig 9): Image of the passenger side frame showing the rear mounting location. Diagram Description (Fig 10): Illustration differentiating the Center Bracket (notch at bottom) and Rear Bracket (notch at top).
Step 6: Attach Passenger/Right Rocker Step
Select the Passenger/Right Rocker step. Note: The Passenger/Right Rocker step will have a "20-R" marking on the front. Attach the Rocker step to the Mounting Brackets using six (6) 8mm Combo Bolts. IMPORTANT: Do not slide the Rocker step on the Mounting Bracket cradles, as this may damage the finish. Do not tighten hardware yet. Diagram Description (Fig 11): Illustration shows the Passenger/Right Rocker step being attached to the Mounting Brackets with two 8mm Combo Bolts. The "20-R" marking is visible.
Step 7: Level and Tighten
Level and adjust the Rocker step, then tighten all hardware.
Step 8: Install Driver/Left Rocker Step
Repeat Steps 1–7 to attach the Driver/Left Rocker step.
Step 9: Periodic Inspections
Perform periodic inspections of the installation to ensure all hardware remains secure and tight.
Attention
To protect your investment, do not use any type of polish or wax that may contain abrasives that could damage the finish. Mild soap may be used to clean the Rocker step.
