IKEA Puerto Rico Warranty Policy

Sofas and Armchairs

General Conditions: Warranties are valid from the date of purchase. IKEA will repair or replace defective products at its discretion. Repairs are covered by IKEA, provided they are authorized.

Warranty Durations:

• 10 Years: For sofas, sofa beds, armchairs, and footstools (excluding natural fiber items, POÄNG covers, and cushions).
• 25 Years: For STOCKHOLM sofas.

Coverage: Defects in materials and manufacturing for structures and seat/back cushions.

Exclusions: Fabric covers, leather covers, fixed fabric covers, natural fiber items (e.g., AGEN, ULRIKSGBERG, ALSEDA, BUSKBO, RÅDVIKEN, HOLMSTA, TOLKNING, GAMLEHULT), POÄNG cushions, and POÄNG children's armchairs.

Maintenance: Fluff cushions regularly (at least monthly), alternate cushion positions. Tighten leg screws after two weeks of use and check periodically.

Washable Covers: Follow care instructions. Iron while slightly damp. Reapply covers while damp for easier fitting.

Leather Care: Vacuum with a soft brush. Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Do not use detergents. Clean spills immediately, especially on light-colored leather.

Desks and Storage

Warranty Durations:

• 3 Years: For gaming desks (FREDDE, UTESPELARE, UPPSPEL) and the UPPSPEL display cabinet.
• 10 Years: For MITTZON, IDÅSEN, TROTTEN series (desks, storage systems), GALANT, TROTTEN storage systems, HÄLLAN wardrobes, and UPPSPEL display cabinet.

Coverage: Defects in materials, manufacturing, and function of components for the specified series.

Exclusions: EILIF screens and UPPSPEL drawer units.

Maintenance: Tighten screws after two weeks of use and check periodically. Clean surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then dry.

Office Chairs

Warranty Durations:

• 3 Years: For MATCHSPEL, UTESPELARE, GRUPPSPEL, STYRSPEL.
• 10 Years: For MARKUS, LÅNGFJÄLL, FLINTAN, HATTEFJÄLL, JÄRVFJÄLLET, LIDKULLEN, ALEFJÄLL, LAKTARE.

Coverage: Defects in materials and manufacturing of chair structures and moving parts (wheels, gas lift, mechanisms, backrest adjustment).

Exclusions: HUVUDSPELARE.

Wardrobes (PAX/KOMPLEMENT)

Warranty Duration: 10 Years for PAX wardrobes and KOMPLEMENT interior organizers.

Coverage: Structures, doors (hinged and sliding), hinges, drawer runners, shelves, and interior organizers.

Exclusions: Specific KOMPLEMENT accessories such as 4-compartment accessories, compartment accessories, mats, boxes, shoe organizers, dividers, trays, and mirrors with hooks.

Maintenance: Secure wardrobes to the wall. Clean with a damp cloth and mild cleaner.

Mattresses

Warranty Duration: 10 Years for mattresses.

Coverage: Defects in manufacturing, materials, and components.

Exclusions: Mattress toppers, infant/baby mattresses, and sofa bed mattresses (these have a 90-day warranty).

First Use: Allow approximately one month for your body and the mattress to adjust. New mattresses may have a distinct smell that dissipates over time; airing and vacuuming can help. Ensure you have a suitable pillow.

Care & Cleaning: Use a mattress protector. Some mattresses have washable covers; follow label instructions. Vacuum regularly to remove dust and mites. Spot clean stains with upholstery cleaner. Rotate or flip mattresses every three months for even wear. Do not fold mattresses.

89-Night Exchange Policy: If you are not satisfied after the adjustment period, you can exchange the mattress. The mattress must be clean and free of stains or dirt. No refunds for used or opened mattresses.

Bathrooms

Warranty Durations:

• 3-10 Years: For HAVBÄCK, ÄNGSJÖN, TÄNNFORSEN bathroom furniture series, and ENHET bathroom/laundry series.
• 3 Years: For shower accessories (bars, heads, hoses, brackets).

Coverage: Defects in materials and manufacturing for specified bathroom products.

Exclusions: TOLKEN countertops and HAVBÄCK, ÄNGSJÖN, TÄNNFORSEN organizers.

Installation: Ensure furniture is securely fixed to the wall. Wall material may require specific fixings (not included). Consult a professional if unsure.

Sinks and Faucets:

• 10 Years: For sinks and faucets. Coverage includes defects in materials and manufacturing.
• Installation: Sinks must be wall-mounted. Ensure wall support.

Shower Faucets and Accessories:

• 10 Years: For thermostatic shower faucets (BROGRUND, VOXNAN, VALLAMOSSE, LILREVET).
• 3 Years: For specific parts of BROGRUND/VOXNAN (shower head, handle, hose, stem, shelves) and VALLAMOSSE (handle, hose, stem).

Kitchens

SEKTION Kitchen System:

• 25 Years: Frames (except VADHOLMA, TÖRNVIKEN), UTRUSTA hinges, MAXIMERA drawers, UTRUSTA glass/melamine shelves, SEKTION legs.
• 5 Years: Doors, fronts, plinths, cover panels, knobs/handles, UTRUSTA door openers, trim, wall rails, integrated dishwasher hinges, UTRUSTA mesh baskets.
• 2 Years: Countertops, sinks, KNOXHULT, SUNNERSTA, ASPINGE kitchen systems.

Kitchen Faucets:

• 2 and 10 Years: Coverage for materials and manufacturing defects.
• Exclusions: Normal wear, scratches, impact damage, water residue, filter maintenance.

Appliances:

• 2 Years: For LAGAN and TILLREDA series.
• 5 Years: For other IKEA kitchen appliances.
• Coverage: Manufacturing and material faults.
• Exclusions: Natural wear, deliberate damage, improper use/installation, chemical/environmental damage, consumables, unauthorized repairs, accidental damage, superficial damage, food loss, etc.

Speakers and Air Purifiers (SYMFONISK & VAPPEBY)

Warranty Duration: 2 Years.

Coverage: Full functionality of the speakers and air purifiers under normal domestic use.

Storage (BROR)

Warranty Duration: 10 Years.

Coverage: Defects in materials, manufacturing, and function of all parts of the BROR storage solution.

Exclusions: BROR cart, table, workbench with drawers, specific shelves, and BROR cabinet with doors.

Exclusions: Incorrect storage/assembly, misuse, alteration, improper cleaning, normal wear, scratches, impact damage, outdoor/humid exposure, consequential damages.

Maintenance: Tighten screws after two weeks of use and check periodically. Clean surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent.

Sliding Doors (SKYTTA)

Warranty Duration: 10 Years.

Coverage: Defects in materials and manufacturing for door frames, panels, rails, side panels, height reducers, brake bars, and hardware.

Exclusions: Floor rails, surface marks from removal/installation, normal wear, scratches, impact damage, incorrect storage/installation, third-party unauthorized work, improper use, alteration, improper cleaning, pest damage, outdoor/humid installation.

Maintenance: Secure doors to wall and floor. Clean rails and wheels regularly. Clean with a damp cloth and mild cleaner.

Warranty for Services

Coverage: 2-year warranty for IKEA kitchen assembly and installation services, valid from completion.

Resolution: IKEA will assess and repair or replace defective services. Costs for authorized repairs are covered.

Exceptions: Warranties do not apply to products improperly stored or assembled, misused, altered, or cleaned with incorrect methods. They also exclude natural wear, humidity, scratches, impact damage, etc.

Maintenance: Follow specific product care and maintenance instructions.

Legal Rights: These warranties do not affect your statutory consumer rights.
