Allegion Connect Technical Manual

This manual covers Allegion Connect products across multiple brands, providing detailed wiring and installation information.

Overview

The electrified exit device, lock, trim, or strike is supplied with Allegion Connect 8-pin and/or 4-pin connectors. Adapters may be supplied for specific applications. Consult the factory for combinations not detailed in this manual.

Wiring Harnesses

Allegion Connect utilizes variable length wiring harnesses with 8-pin and 4-pin connectors. A 6" CON-6W wiring harness is used for connecting to field wiring.

Variable Length Wiring Harnesses:

Available with connectors on both ends for hollow metal doors.
Available with connectors on one end and loose wires for wood doors, suitable for tight fit applications.

Wiring Harness Color Codes:

8-Pin Connectors:

Pin 1: Red
Pin 2: Black
Pin 3: Blue
Pin 4: Yellow
Pin 5: Green
Pin 6: Gray
Pin 7: Violet
Pin 8: White

4-Pin Connectors:

Pin 1: Orange
Pin 2: Brown
Pin 3: Pink
Pin 4: Tan

Note: Field wiring from the frame to the power supply must use appropriate gauge wire. Variable length harnesses use 20-gauge wire, which may not be sufficient for all applications.

Von Duprin Products

This section details wiring configurations for various Von Duprin products:

Electric Power Transfer (EPT-10): Provides power transfer through the hinge.
RX/LX/RX-LX Exit Device: Wiring for normally open (NO) and normally closed (NC) functions.
QEL Exit Device: Wiring for power and unused functions.
QEL/(RX/LX/RX-LX) Exit Device: Combined wiring for QEL and RX/LX/RX-LX devices.
EL Exit Device: Wiring for solenoid and pulse width module.
EL/(RX/LX/RX-LX) Exit Device: Combined wiring for EL and RX/LX/RX-LX devices.
CX (Chexit) Motor-Driven Exit Device: Wiring for door position switch, alarm relay, power supply, and inhibit inputs.
ALK Exit Device: Wiring for power, ground, and external inhibit.
E7500 Mortise Lock: Wiring for solenoid, S1 (auxiliary bolt/latch bolt monitoring), and S2 (trim input monitoring).
SS7500 Mortise Lock: Similar wiring to E7500 for monitoring functions.
E996/M996 Trim: Basic power wiring.
6100/6200 Series Electric Strikes: Wiring for solenoid, S1 (tripper monitoring), and S2 (strike lip monitoring) for Fail Secure (FSE) and Fail Safe (FS) configurations.

Falcon Products

This section details wiring configurations for various Falcon products:

RX Exit Device: Wiring for NO, NC, and Common functions.
MEL Exit Device: Wiring for power and unused functions.
MEL/RX Exit Device: Combined wiring for MEL and RX devices.
EL Exit Device: Wiring for solenoid and pulse width module.

EA (Exit Alarm) Exit Device: Wiring for power, ground, and external inhibit.

Extraction Tool

Not Included: Crimping Tool (Molex part number 63819-0000).

Wire Color to Pin Alignment: Detailed diagrams show the pinout for 4-pin and 8-pin female and male connectors.

Extraction Tool Instructions: Step-by-step guide on how to use the extraction tool to remove terminals from connectors. Note that terminal locking tangs are damaged during removal and the terminal is not reusable.
