Always switch off and remove the charger from the socket before cleaning or performing maintenance.

Children aged 8 and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, can use this appliance if supervised or instructed on safe use and hazards. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be done by unsupervised children.

If the power cord is damaged, stop using the appliance immediately. An authorized Hoover service engineer must replace the power cord to avoid hazards.

If the cleaning area includes a balcony or stairs, use a physical barrier to prevent access and ensure safe operation. Supervise small children and pets while the Robot is cleaning.

Always store the appliance indoors. Do not use outdoors or expose to elements, humidity, or heating sources (oven, fireplace, wet floor). Do not expose the Robot or accessories to excessive heat/cold (0-30°C). Do not drop the Robot or use any accessory if dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped in water. Never unplug the mains power adaptor by the power cord. Do not use to clean stairs.

Battery Charging

Use only the original charger. Check your supply voltage matches the charger's rating. Never charge batteries above 30°C or below 0°C. Plug the charger into a suitable socket.

Battery leaks can occur under extreme conditions. If liquid contacts skin, wash quickly with water. If it contacts eyes, flush immediately with clean water for at least 10 minutes and seek medical attention.

The charger may become warm during charging. Use only Hoover-recommended attachments, consumables, or spares. Do not pick up hard/sharp objects, matches, hot ashes, or cigarette ends. Do not spray or pick up flammable liquids, cleaning fluids, aerosols, or their vapours. Do not use if the appliance or charger appears faulty.

For continued safe and efficient operation, Hoover recommends servicing or repairs by an authorized Hoover service engineer only. Do not use the appliance to clean animals or people. Do not replace Robot batteries with non-rechargeable batteries. If the Robot will not be used for several weeks, unplug the mains power adaptor.

End of Life Battery Removal

Before disposing of the appliance, batteries must be removed. Disconnect from mains supply. Discharge batteries fully by running the appliance until it stops. Take used batteries to a recycling station; do not dispose of with household waste. For battery removal, contact Hoover Customer Centre or follow instructions: Unplug charger, switch off Robot, turn Robot over, remove screws and battery compartment cover, remove battery pack [Fig. 7].

Important Notes Before Use

Read the following information carefully before using your Robot or accessories. Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the Robot yourself. Contact Hoover after Sales Service for professional advice if a fault occurs.

Stairs and Edges

The Robot uses sensors to avoid falling down steps, stairs, or edges. Sensors can sometimes be confused. The Robot cannot detect steps less than 8cm high, which may cause it to fall. Use the Virtual Barrier if available. Highly reflective or very dark surfaces (glass, polished ceramics) on steps may also confuse sensors; use the Virtual Barrier or place a carpet on lower steps. Avoid using the Robot on mezzanines, landings, or raised areas without borders; use the Virtual Barrier if available.

Battery Use

The Robot is powered by rechargeable, high-capacity lithium-ion batteries, guaranteed for 6 months if maintained and operated according to this manual. For significant performance drops, replacement batteries are available from Hoover retailers. Use only Hoover-approved replacement parts; unapproved parts are dangerous and will invalidate your warranty. Use only the supplied charging station and mains power adaptor; incorrect ones are dangerous and will invalidate your warranty.

The Environment

The symbol on this appliance indicates it must not be treated as household waste. It must be handed over to an applicable collection point for recycling of electrical and electronic equipment, in accordance with local environmental regulations. For more information on treatment, recovery, and recycling, contact your local city office, household waste disposal service, or the shop where you purchased the appliance.

Packaging

Do not discard Robot packaging; it may be needed for warranty validity. Keep plastic bags away from babies, young children, and animals to prevent suffocation.

Battery

For optimal battery performance, keep batteries fully charged. When not in use, leave the robot connected to the mains power adaptor. The robot has an intelligent charging system to prevent overcharging. Ensure all persons in the room are aware of the robot's presence.

Charging Station Setup

Before use, remove obstacles from the Robot's path, including items that can be knocked over, carpet edges, floor-length curtains, heat sources, power cords, and fragile objects.

Setup Steps:

  1. Plug in the mains power adaptor and connect to the charging station [Fig. 2].
  2. Ensure the power cord is not caught underneath the charging station.
  3. Place the charging station on a non-reflective, level floor, preferably against a wall. Highly reflective floors can interfere with navigation.
  4. Maintain clear space around the charging station: 2 meters in front and 1 meter to each side [Fig. 2].
  5. Manage excess power cord neatly using the provided tie.
  6. Check that the dust container is installed in the Robot.
  7. Attach the two rotary brushes (L and R) to their brackets until they click into place, ensuring correct alignment [Fig. 3].
  8. Guide your Robot into the charging station to begin charging. A full recharge takes approximately 4-5 hours.

NOTE: Before first use, the batteries must be charged for at least 8 hours.

Maintaining Your Robot Cleaner

Emptying the Dust Container

Turn the robot off and remove it from the charging station. Press the dust container release button and remove the dust container [Fig. 13]. Remove all filter components and clean them separately. Assembly is done in reverse order [Fig. 16]. Ensure the filter insert is correctly assembled by pressing the shorter side wall first, then pushing in the filter on the other sides by pressing down on the edges.

IMPORTANT: Regularly check and maintain filters following these instructions to maintain Robot performance.

Cleaning Anti-Fall Sensors

To maintain safe operation, keep anti-fall sensors clean. There are 3 sensors on the underside. Turn the robot upside down and clean them with a soft brush to remove dust, dirt, or debris [Fig. 17].

Cleaning the Agitator

Regularly clean the agitator for maximum cleaning performance. Turn the Robot off. Turn the Robot over [Fig. 18]. Press the clips on the sole plate, remove the cap, then remove the agitator. Remove hair and lint by hand or with a brush.

Cleaning the Edge Side Brushes

Edge cleaning brushes can wear out with heavy use; check them regularly. Switch the Robot off and turn it over. Unclip the two edge side brushes. Use scissors to remove any trapped hair or debris.

Cleaning the Drive Wheels

Switch the Robot off and turn it over. Remove any dirt or hair trapped in the wheels. Clean the wheels with a dry cloth [Fig. 19].

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Use only approved replacement parts for your Robot. Using unapproved parts is dangerous and invalidates your warranty. If the Robot will not be used for several months, remove batteries and store in a cool, dry location. Always ensure the device is switched off before changing parts.
