1. Installation

1.1 Removing the Belt Clip

To remove the belt clip, pull the belt clip lock of the PMR device. While pulling the belt clip lock, push the belt clip upwards simultaneously.

1.2 Attaching the Belt Clip

Slide the belt clip into the designated slot. A click indicates that the belt clip is locked in place.

1.3 Inserting the Batteries

Caution: Ensure correct polarity when inserting batteries. Incorrect insertion can damage both the batteries and the device.

1.4 Battery Indicator

The battery symbol indicates the battery charge level, from full to empty. When the battery is low, the radio will beep regularly after releasing the button. The radio will turn off automatically when the voltage drops below a certain level to protect the battery.

2. Operation

2.1 Turning the Device On/Off

2.2 Adjusting the Volume

The volume is indicated by vertical bars on the LCD display. You can adjust the volume while the device is operating or in standby mode.

2.3 Changing Channels

The device has 8 channels. To communicate with other PMR devices, all devices must be set to the same channel.

Note: A detailed frequency list can be found in the "Channel Frequency Table" section of this manual.

2.4 Setting CTCSS Sub-channel and DCS Code

Each channel has 38 sub-channels (1-38) and 83 digital codes (39-121) that allow you to set up a user group for a shared channel, making communication inaccessible to others. When a sub-channel is set, you can only communicate with other PMR users whose devices are set to the same main and sub-channel.

The sub-channel function can be turned off by setting the sub-channel to 0 (Null). You can communicate with any PMR user who has the same channel set and the sub-channel function turned off.

2.5 Receiving

When the device is on and not transmitting, it is in receive mode. It will receive a signal on the current channel.

2.6 Transmitting

2.7 Monitoring

The monitor function searches for weaker signals on the current channel.

2.8 Call Alert

Your PMR device can alert you to an incoming signal with an audible ringtone.

2.8.1 Call Ringtone

You can send a call ringtone to other PMR users to indicate your desire to communicate. Press the Call button (♪). A ringtone will sound for approximately 5 seconds, and the symbol (♪) will be displayed on the LCD. Other devices in range set to the same channel and sub-channel will hear the ringtone.

2.8.2 Selecting a Call Ringtone

The device is equipped with 10 different call ringtones.

2.9 Setting VOX (Voice Activated) Sensitivity

In VOX mode, the device transmits only when activated by your voice or ambient sounds. It will transmit for an additional 2 seconds after you finish speaking.

The VOX sensitivity level is indicated by a number on the LCD. At the highest sensitivity level, the device picks up quiet sounds (including background noise); at the lowest level, only loud sounds are picked up.

Note: VOX operation is not recommended in a loud or windy environment.

2.10 Setting the Dual Channel Monitoring Mode

Your device can monitor two channels: the current channel and one other channel. When the device detects a signal on either channel, it will pause to receive the signal.

2.11 Setting the Squelch 1-6

  1. Press the Menu button seven times until "SL" displays.
  2. Press UP or DOWN to select the reception sensitivity level:
