Start Diagnostics
The diagnostic system comprises two main components: the display tablet and the VCI connector.
- Display tablet: Acts as the central processor and monitor for analyzing vehicle data and displaying test results.
- VCI connector: Serves as the vehicle communication interface device for accessing vehicle data (applicable to 12V passenger vehicles).
The following illustrates how the display tablet works with the VCI connector:
Diagram Description: A schematic showing the VCI Connector connecting to the Vehicle's DLC (Data Link Connector) via a cable. The VCI Connector also communicates wirelessly or via cable with the Display Tablet. The Display Tablet is connected to the Internet. The DLC is shown as a standard 16-pin connector, with a diagram indicating its typical location in a car's dashboard, often near the steering wheel.
1 Preparation & Connection
- Switch the ignition **OFF**.
- Ensure the vehicle battery voltage is between **9-18V**.
- Throttle should be in a closed position.
2 Connection
Follow these steps:
- For vehicles with an OBD II management system: Plug the VCI connector directly into the vehicle's DLC or use the OBD II extension cable.
- For vehicles without an OBD II management system:
- a. Select the corresponding non-16pin connector.
- b. Plug the non-16pin end of the connector into the DLC socket. Connect the other end to the OBD I adaptor and tighten the captive screws.
- c. Connect the other end of the adaptor to the VCI connector.
- d. To supply power to the OBD I adaptor:
- A. Battery Clamps Cable (optional): Connect one end to the vehicle's battery and the other end to the OBD I adaptor's power jack.
- B. Cigarette Lighter Cable (optional): Connect one end to the vehicle's cigarette lighter receptacle and the other end to the OBD I adaptor's power jack.
- Switch the ignition **ON**.
