The LKV422 is a 4-input, 2-output HDMI matrix switch that allows for flexible switching of 4 HDMI input signals to 2 HDMI displays. The device features auto down-scaling on HDMI outputs and provides additional audio outputs via S/PDIF and stereo jack. Installation Procedures

Connection Diagram Overview

Connect HDMI source devices (e.g., DVD, PC) to the HDMI inputs and HDMI display devices (e.g., TV, projector) to the HDMI outputs. Optional connections include RS-232 for control and audio devices to the S/PDIF or stereo L/R ports.

Connection Steps

  1. Connect source devices to the HDMI input ports using HDMI cables.
  2. Connect display devices to the HDMI output ports using HDMI cables.
  3. If using RS-232 control, connect the control device to the RS-232 port.
  4. For additional audio output, connect audio devices to the L/R port and/or S/PDIF port with appropriate cables.
  5. Power on all connected devices to begin operation.

Mode Two (Status Read & Control):

The command PAXXR reads the status of all interfaces. Upon successful execution, the response is OKPXPX (where X is 1-4). An incorrect command results in ERR.

Example Command: PAP3P1 sets Output port HDMI 1 to receive content from input port HDMI 3, and Output port HDMI 2 to receive content from input port HDMI 1.

General Commands:

  • Reset: Initiates a device restart.
  • Recover: Restores the device to its factory default settings.
  • BaudXX: Sets the baud rate (e.g., Baud9600, Baud19200). Default is 9600.

FAQ

Q: No video or audio signal output on the displays?

A: 1) Ensure the matrix switch is powered on and all cables are connected correctly. 2) Verify that the input channel on the displays is set correctly.

Q: Picture quality is not fluent and stable?

A: 1) Confirm all HDMI cables are securely connected. 2) Try connecting the source device directly to the display device, or test with a different source device to see if picture quality improves. 3) Use high-quality HDMI cables for 4K signals.
