Important Safety Information
Please read these instructions carefully and retain them for future reference.
Warning! Children can become trapped between the bed and the wall. To avoid the risk of serious injury, the distance between the bed and the wall must always be less than 65 mm or more than 230 mm.
Warning! To avoid creating a dangerous gap where children can become trapped, the guard rail must only be used on beds with a straight side rail. The gap between the bottom edge of the guard rail and the top edge of the side rail must not be more than 69 mm (2 3/4 inches).
Warning! To eliminate the risk of entrapment, always fit the guard rail so that it is touching the bed head. The distance between the other end of the guard rail and the foot of the bed must not be less than 230 mm (9 inches).
Product Specifications
The guard rail fits all bed sides that are 18-25 mm (3/4-1 inch) thick.
It is intended for use on beds where the top of the side rail when fixed on the bed is not more than 600 mm (23 5/8 inches) above floor level.
Assembly and Usage Guidelines
Ensure the guard rail is correctly installed to prevent any gaps where a child could become trapped.
Always ensure the guard rail is flush with the head of the bed to prevent entrapment.
Maintain the specified distances between the bed, wall, and guard rail as indicated in the diagrams to ensure child safety.
Diagram Descriptions
Diagram 1 shows the guard rail fitted to a bed, illustrating the required distances from the wall and the top of the side rail. The guard rail is shown to fit bed sides with a thickness of 18-25 mm (3/4-1 inch). The maximum height of the side rail from the floor is indicated as 600 mm (23 5/8 inches).
Diagram 2 illustrates an incorrect installation where a dangerous gap is created between the guard rail and the bed side rail, posing a risk of entrapment.
Diagram 3 shows the guard rail fitted correctly, touching the bed head, with the minimum distance of 230 mm (9 inches) to the foot of the bed.
Diagram 4 illustrates an incorrect installation where the guard rail is too far from the bed head, creating a gap at the head of the bed.
