- Countertop must be level and horizontal.
- Countertop stability must be maintained after cutout.
- Solid surface countertops may require special installation (e.g., heat-reflective tape, rounded corners); consult manufacturer.
Installation in Combination with Other Products
Install both products according to their specific instructions.
- Cooktop over Oven/Microwave: Use only approved combinations listed in the Approved Combination Guide.
- Range Hood/Microwave Hood Above Cooktop: Follow hood installation instructions for clearance.
3. Prepare Installation Space
Create the countertop cutout according to instructions.
General Countertop Requirements
- Cut surface angle must be 90°.
- Secure lateral strips in multi-layered countertops if needed.
- Remove all shavings after cutting.
- Seal cut surfaces with heat- and water-resistant material.
- Minimum distance between appliance underside and cabinet surfaces: 3/8" (10 mm).
- Countertop must be heat-resistant up to 140°F (90°C).
- Countertop must be at least 13/16" (20 mm) thick.
- If countertop thickness is insufficient, reinforce with fire- and water-resistant material.
- Countertop must withstand loads of approx. 133 lbs (60 kg).
- Confirm cooktop is level only after installation.
3.1 Cutout Dimensions for 30" Cooktops

4.2 Securing the Cooktop to the Countertop
Use the provided hold-down brackets to secure the cooktop from below.
- Place the cooktop face down on a soft surface.
- Attach hold-down brackets to the underside with short screws (do not tighten yet).
- Rotate brackets to allow placement in the cutout.
- CAUTION: Do not let the cooktop drop. Support edges when placing into cutout. Carefully turn and place the cooktop into the countertop cutout.
- Insert clamping screws into brackets and secure cooktop to the countertop. Use a wooden disk to protect delicate countertops.
- Tighten hold-down bracket screws on the underside.
