Fender MTG Tube Distortion Pedal
Model: MTG Tube Distortion
Manufacturer: Fender Musical Instruments Corporation
Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the Fender MTG Tube Distortion pedal. Unlike many pedals that emulate tube breakup, the MTG Tube Distortion utilizes actual vacuum tubes to deliver authentic tube distortion in a compact format. At its core is a New Old Stock (NOS) US-made 6205 preamp tube. The pedal features a 3-Band EQ, a Tight control, and a switchable boost with its own Level and Boost controls, making it easy to achieve your desired sound.
Designed in California, U.S.A.
Pedal Layout and Controls
The pedal features the following controls and connectors:
- 1. Bypass Footswitch: Engages or disengages the distortion effect.
- 2. Jewel Indicator: An LED that illuminates when the distortion effect is active.
- 3. Output Jack: Connects the pedal's output to an amplifier or the next effect pedal in a mono signal chain.
- 4. Level Control: Adjusts the overall output volume of the MTG pedal.
- 5. Treble Control: Adjusts the amount of high-frequency content. Counterclockwise settings result in a darker sound, while clockwise settings increase brightness.
- 6. Middle Control: Adjusts the pedal's midrange response.
- 7. Boost Level Control: When the Boost function is engaged, this control adjusts the boost's output volume.
- 8. Boost LED: An indicator light that shows when the Boost function is engaged.
- 9. Boost Control: When the Boost function is engaged, this control adjusts the amount of saturation added to the instrument's signal.
- 10. Bass Control: Adjusts the pedal's low-frequency response. Use it to add fullness to thinner-sounding guitars or reduce low end for guitars with hotter humbucking pickups.
- 11. Tight Control: Helps to control or reduce excessive low-end frequencies that can make higher gain settings sound muddy or unclear.
- 12. Gain Control: Adjusts the amount of saturation or distortion.
- 13. Input Jack: A high-impedance input suitable for electric guitar, bass, acoustic guitars with pickup systems, keyboards, and other instruments.
- 14. Boost Footswitch: Engages or disengages the boost function.
- 15. LED Kill Switch: A switch that turns off the LEDs illuminating the knobs.
- 16. DC Power Connector: A standard center-negative 9VDC jack for use with appropriate power supplies.
