Procedure:
1. Place the m701 on a workbench and remove the top cover. There are (10) #2 Phillips screws on the top and sides.
***Circuit boards can be DAMAGED by static electricity! Be sure to ground yourself before handling or touching the circuit boards!***

2. Remove the option cover plate(s). The cover plates are held on by two 3/32" Allen screws. Retain these screws for the installation.

3. Install the I/O Card by inserting it from the inside of the unit and tilting the DB25 input connector down first, then aligning the card edge connector (PCI-E slot). When aligned, press down on the back of the card to seat the connector. Repeat for any other cards to install. *If installing more than one m701-MP4 refer to step 1.2.

4. Install the I/O Card cover plate with the two H035 3/32" Allen screws that were previously removed and two H165 3/16" hex standoffs. The H165s will have thread locking compound pre-applied.

5. Re-install the top cover.
1.2 Installing m701-MP4 as a pair
1. If two MP4 Mic Pre cards are installed, then the modules can be linked together so that all 8 channels appear on the lower slot number card.
2. Connect WA235 cable to J3 of the lower slot number card to J4 of the next and route as shown below.

3. Install the I/O Cards as a pair by inserting it from the inside of the unit and tilting the DB25 input connector down first, then aligning the card edge connector (PCI-E slot). When aligned, press down on the back of the cards to seat the connectors. Repeat for any other cards to install.

4. Install the I/O Card cover plates with the H035 3/32" Allen screws that were previously removed and H165 3/16" hex standoffs. The H165s will have thread locking compound pre-applied. Place the H591 Dust Cap on the higher slot number card.

5. Re-install the top cover.
