Installation of Bike Mount
Standard bike mount installation: The device attaches to the handlebar.
Out front bike mount installation (Optional accessory): The device attaches to a mount extending forward from the handlebar.
Acquiring Satellite Signals and Time Setting
Ensure the iGS50E is outdoors with a clear view of the sky. Signal acquisition may take 5 to 120 seconds. Remain stationary while acquiring signals. The time and date will be calibrated automatically once satellite signals are acquired.
Smart Backlight
The iGS50E automatically calculates sunrise and sunset times based on GPS position. The backlight turns on before sunset and off after sunrise. When the backlight is off, pressing any button will turn it on for 15 seconds.
Battery
- Type: Rechargeable, built-in lithium-ion battery.
- Life: About 40 hours (typical usage).
- Operating Temperature: -10°C to 50°C (14°F to 122°F).
- Charging Temperature: 0°C to 45°C (32°F to 113°F).
- Input: DC5V, 500mA.
- Charging Time: 2.5 Hours/Hour.
Notes: Use a DC 5V power adapter for charging. Battery life decreases as temperature drops. The iGS50E supports charging during use. Do not overstretch the USB plug to maintain waterproofing and dustproofing.
Motion Detection and Auto Standby
The iGS50E enters standby mode automatically after 5-10 minutes of inactivity. It will wake up automatically once motion is detected.
Searching and Connecting ANT+ Sensors (Setting Mode E1)
The iGS50E can be used with ANT+ sensors, including heart rate monitors, cadence sensors, speed sensors, and combined speed/cadence sensors. Search for ANT+ sensors when using them for the first time.
Steps for Sensor Setup:
- Wake up ANT+ sensors. A heart rate monitor should be worn directly on the skin around the chest.
- Cadence Sensor Installation: Install on the non-drive side crank arm and rotate the crank arm.
- Speed Sensor Installation: Install on the top of the front wheel hub and rotate the front wheel.
Connecting ANT+ Sensors:
- Hold [select] → for more than 2 seconds to enter the setting mode.
- Press [select] → to scroll through setting modes from E1 to E4.
- Press [select] [power] to enter E1 mode when E1 is flashing.
- The iGS50E will search for ANT+ sensors automatically.
- When sensors are connected, their respective icons will light up.
- The device exits sensor search mode after 20 seconds.
Notes: The iGS50E automatically connects to previously paired sensors. If the battery is replaced, you may need to search for sensors again.
Setting the Wheel Size & Circumference (Setting Mode E2)
Set the wheel circumference if you are using a speed sensor. The default wheel circumference is 2096mm.
Steps for Setup:
- Hold [select] → for more than 2 seconds to enter the setting mode.
- Press [select] → to scroll through setting modes from E1 to E4.
- Press [select] [power] to enter E2 mode when E2 is flashing.
- Press [select] to move between digits, and press → to change the numerical value.
- Press [select] [power] to save and exit.
Notes: The unit of wheel circumference is mm. The setting will be automatically saved if no operation occurs for 6 seconds.

Setting Time Zone (Setting Mode E3)
Default time zone: UTC/GMT+08:00
Steps for Setup:
- Hold [select] → for more than 2 seconds to enter the setting mode.
- Press [select] → to scroll through setting modes from E1 to E4.
- Press [select] [power] to enter E3 mode when E3 is flashing.
- Press [select] to change digits of hour and minute, and press → to change the value.
- Press [select] [power] to save and exit.
Note: The setting will be automatically saved if no operation occurs for 6 seconds.
Setting Metric and Imperial Units (Setting Mode E4)
Default unit: metric (kilometer)
Steps for Setup:
- Hold [select] → for more than 2 seconds to enter the setting mode.
- Press [select] → to scroll through setting modes from E1 to E4.
- Press [select] [power] to enter E4 mode when E4 is flashing.
- Press [select] to switch between metric (kilometer) and imperial (mile) units. Press → to modify the numerical value.
- Press [select] [power] to save and exit.
Note: The setting will be automatically saved if no operation occurs for 6 seconds.
Connecting to Smartphone App
Android Smart Phone Requirements: Android 4.4 or above, built-in Bluetooth 4.0 BLE. Download the "iGPSPORT" App from the Google Play App Store.
iPhone Requirements: iPhone 4s or above (incompatible with iPad). Download the "iGPSPORT" APP from the Apple App Store.
Steps for Connection:
- Power on the iGS50E; its Bluetooth is always ready for connection.
- Turn on your smartphone's Bluetooth, then open the "iGPSPORT" App.
- In the app's Device menu, find "iGS50E" and click it to connect.
- The iGS50E's Bluetooth icon lighting up indicates it is connected with your smartphone.
- Choose the files to upload.
Upload Files to Computer and Website
Steps for Uploading:
- Power off the iGS50E.
- Connect the iGS50E to your computer via USB cable.
- Press [select] [power] to enter connection mode; the battery icon will light up.
- Your computer will recognize the iGS50E as a new disk. Copy the activity files from the folder
\iGPSPORT\Activities\
to your computer. - Log in to http://i.igpsport.com and select the .fit format files to upload.
Notes:
- The iGS50E can store approximately 200 hours of riding files. If the memory is insufficient, it will automatically delete the earliest file. It is recommended to upload, backup, and delete files regularly.
- Files can be uploaded to www.strava.com or other websites that support the .fit file format.
Factory Reset
Steps for Factory Reset:
- Power off the iGS50E.
- Connect the iGS50E to a power adapter using a USB cable.
- Hold the left and right buttons simultaneously for more than 5 seconds until "FA" displays on the screen.
- Disconnect the iGS50E from the power adapter.
Note: A factory reset will clear all data. Please back up your activity files before performing a factory reset.
