Product Overview

This manual provides installation and operational guidance for the Vetus BPJ5B and DBPJ5B hydraulic thruster control panels. These panels are designed to manage the direction and power of hydraulic thrusters, as well as other marine systems like mast lowering and anchor windlasses.

Joystick Operation

The control panel features a joystick with five distinct positions for managing direction and power:

• 0 - Neutral: The center position. The thrust is disengaged, and the joystick must be manually returned to this position.
• +1 / -1 - Partial Power: The joystick remains in this position when released, a feature known as the 'holding function'.
• +2 / -2 - Full Power: The joystick does not stay in this position; it automatically returns to the partial power setting when released.

Wiring and Connections

The control panels connect to various components via a junction box. The specific connections depend on the panel model:

BPJ5B Model:

• Junction Box
• Battery (12V or 24V)
• Solenoid valve for bow thruster
• Solenoid valve for stern thruster
• Solenoid valve for mast lowering installation
• Solenoid valve for anchor windlass
• 2-step load-sensing solenoid valve
• Panel with one 5-position joystick

DBPJ5B Model:

• Junction Box
