Installation Instructions

Inspection of Shipment

Unpack all cartons and check thoroughly for any damage that may have occurred during transit. Damage claims should be filed immediately with the transportation company. Gold Medal Products is not responsible for damage that occurs in transit.

Model Description

This unit is designed for Portion Pak Cheese Containers. It is not intended for the storage or display of time/temperature control for safety foods.

Setup

Your new Cheese Display Case is assembled and tested at the factory. Remove all packing material and tape before starting operation.

Electrical Requirements

The following power supply must be provided (reference unit Data Plate for Wattage requirement): 120V~, 60 Hz.

A certified electrician is required for power supply and receptacle installation. A dedicated and protected circuit is recommended. Improper wiring voids warranty. Plug directly into a wall outlet; extension cords are not recommended. Ensure cord placement prevents trip hazards.

Before You Plug In Machine

  1. Ensure all machine switches are OFF before plugging equipment into receptacle.
  2. Ensure wall outlet accepts grounded plugs.
  3. Verify wall outlet polarity; consult an electrician if unsure.
  4. DO NOT use a grounded to un-grounded receptacle adapter.
  5. Install unit in a level position.

Operating Instructions

Controls and Their Functions

The lighted rocker switch controls the element, blower fan, and light bulbs. The fan circulates air over the thermostat-controlled element, keeping the cheese portion packs warm inside the cabinet.

Care and Cleaning

⚠️ DANGER: Machine must be properly grounded. DO NOT immerse in water. DO NOT clean with a water jet or steam cleaner. Always unplug before cleaning or servicing.

Sanitation: Use non-toxic, food-grade cleaners. A clean machine is good advertising.

  1. Turn machine OFF, unplug, and allow to cool before cleaning.
  2. Clean all pans/accessories (racks) to sanitize before each use.
  3. Clean the outside with a soft cloth dampened with soap and hot water.
  4. Wipe stainless steel parts with a clean cloth and stainless steel cleaner (e.g., Gold Medal Watchdog Stainless Cleaner, Item No. 2088). Do not use oven cleaners or abrasive materials.
  5. Clean glass panels with glass cleaner (e.g., Gold Medal Watchdog Glass Cleaner, Item No. 2588). Ammonia cleaners damage plastic doors/panels.

Electrical Schematic – 5582 & 5583

Warranty

Warranty Period: Two (2) years for parts, six (6) months for labor from the original sale date, provided operating and maintenance procedures are followed.

Limitations: This warranty is exclusive and in lieu of all others. Gold Medal is not liable for special, incidental, or consequential damages. Claims are void if the equipment is misused, neglected, damaged in transit, tampered with, or if non-approved parts are used. Warranty is effective only when electrical items are properly attached to utility lines at correct voltages. Warranty is not transferable without written consent.

Original Purchaser: Defined as the person, firm, association, or corporation billed by Gold Medal Products Co. or its authorized distributor.

Warranty Void Condition: Warranty is void unless the original purchaser first calls Gold Medal Products Co. at 1-800-543-0862 to discuss the problem and obtain instructions for repair or replacement.
