5. Installation Procedure
- Stop the engine and disconnect the negative battery terminal.
- Install the Power Editor main unit in an arbitrary location, avoiding areas with high temperatures (like the engine body) or direct water exposure. Ensure the connection harness reaches the pressure sensor. If using double-sided tape, clean the surface, apply the tape, and use tie wraps for added security. Relying solely on double-sided tape can be risky due to potential detachment over time.
- Connect the Power Editor main unit to the Connector for main unit.
- Power Editor Main Unit LED Indicators:
- Lighting off: Power off
- Lighting on: Power on
- 1 blinking: CH1 data is broken
- 2 blinks: CH2 data is broken
- 3 blinks: CH1/CH2 data is broken
- Disconnect the vehicle's original connector from the pressure sensor and connect the Power Editor's connection harness. The boost-up data for Channel 1 and Channel 2 are identical from the factory, so reversing the connection to the pressure sensor will not affect normal operation. Be mindful of channel order when modifying boost-up data using Power Editor EasyWriter software.
- Secure the Power Editor connection harness with tie wraps to prevent interference with vehicle operation.
- After confirming all connectors are properly connected, reconnect the negative battery terminal.
- Turn the ignition on and verify that the Power Editor main unit's LED lights up. If the LED does not light up, check for poor connector contact.
- When disconnecting vehicle factory harness connectors, be aware that white plastic parts and orange rubber seals may detach. If these parts enter the harness connector, use pliers or a tool to remove them before reconnecting to the factory connector.
