Important Safeguards
HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY. DO NOT IMMERSE IN WATER.
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed:
- Read all instructions.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
- To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the cord, plugs, or any part in water or other liquid.
- Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.
- The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
- Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
- Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
- Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to “off”, then remove plug from wall outlet.
- Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
- Extension Cord: A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce risk. Extension cords may be used if care is exercised. The cord's electrical rating must be at least equal to the appliance's. Arrange the cord so it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over. If the appliance is grounded, use a grounding-type 3-wire cord.
- Oversize foods or metal utensils must not be inserted in a toaster-oven as they may create a fire or risk of electric shock.
- A fire may occur if the air fryer oven is covered or touching flammable material, including curtains, draperies, walls, and the like, when in operation. Do not store any item on top of the appliance when in operation.
- Extreme caution should be exercised when using containers constructed of other than metal or glass.
- Do not store any materials, other than manufacturer-recommended accessories, in this oven when not in use.
- Do not place paper, cardboard, plastic, etc., in the oven.
- Do not cover crumb tray or any part of the oven with metal foil, as this will cause overheating.
- Pressing the power button at any time during cooking will shut down the unit. The fan will continue running for 40 seconds to cool down the unit.
- Use extreme caution when removing tray or disposing of hot grease.
- Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off and touch electrical parts, creating a risk of electric shock.
CORD AND PLUG SAFETY
- A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce risk of becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
- Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use.
- If an extension cord is used:
a. The marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least equal to the electrical rating of the appliance; and
b. The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
ELECTRICAL POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.

Cooking Tips
- For a comprehensive list of foods, ideal amounts, temperatures, and times, consult the Air Fry Cooking Chart and Dehydrate Chart (pages 24-27 of the Gourmia Recipe Book).
- When following package or recipe instructions, reduce the cooking temperature by 14°C (25°F).
- Check food for doneness a few minutes before the cook time ends and cook longer if needed.
- When cooking in both baskets simultaneously, add additional cook time to each zone.
- Always ensure raw proteins reach a food-safe temperature.
- Snacks prepared in an oven can also be prepared in the air fryer.
- Smaller ingredients generally require a slightly shorter cook time than larger ingredients.
- Preheating the air fryer before adding food generally yields better results (see PREHEAT on page 14).
- When cooking multiple batches consecutively, preheat only before the first batch.
- Turning or tossing food halfway through cooking results in evenly browned and crispy dishes (see TURN REMINDER on page 14).
- For crispy potatoes, toss them with 1 tablespoon of oil before air frying for a few minutes.
- Do not cook foods that produce a large amount of grease in the air fryer.
- Place a baking pan or oven-safe dish in the basket to bake cakes, quiches, or air fry fragile or filled ingredients.
Cleaning & Maintenance
WARNING:
- NEVER immerse the power cord, plug, or air fryer in water or any other liquid.
- Do not use metal kitchen utensils or abrasive cleaning materials on the basket and crisper tray, as this may damage the nonstick coating.
- Clean the air fryer after each use.
- Before cleaning, unplug the air fryer from the power outlet.
- Let the air fryer cool down completely before cleaning. Remove the baskets to cool them faster.
- Clean the baskets and crisper trays in the dishwasher's top rack only, or wash with hot water, dish soap, and a non-abrasive sponge.
- If residue is stuck to the bottom of the baskets, fill them with hot water and dish soap and let them soak.
- Wipe the exterior of the air fryer with a moist cloth.
- Clean the interior with hot water, dish soap, and a cleaning brush to remove food residue.
- Ensure the air fryer is completely dry before use.

Troubleshooting
Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
---|---|---|
The air fryer does not work. | The air fryer is not plugged in. The timer has not been set. |
Plug the air fryer into a grounded wall socket. Use the time controls to set the required cook time. |
The basket does not fit inside the air fryer. | The basket is overfilled. | Do not fill the basket beyond the max line. |
The ingredients did not cook. | There are too many ingredients in the basket. The set temperature is too low. The cook time is too short. |
Put smaller batches of ingredients in the basket. Smaller batches cook more evenly. Use the temperature controls to set the required temperature. Use the time controls to set the required cook time. |
The ingredients are fried unevenly. | Certain types of ingredients need to be shaken halfway through the cook time. | Ingredients that lie on top of or across each other (e.g., fries) need to be shaken halfway through the cook time (see TURN REMINDER on page 14). |
Fried snacks are not crispy. | You used a type of snack meant to be cooked in a traditional deep fryer. | Use oven snacks or lightly brush some oil onto the snacks for a crispier result. |
White smoke comes out of the air fryer. | You are preparing greasy ingredients. The basket still contains grease residue from previous use. |
When frying greasy ingredients, oil leaks into the basket, producing white smoke. This does not affect the air fryer or the end result. White smoke is caused by grease heating up in the basket. Clean the basket properly after each use. |
Fresh fries are fried unevenly. | Quality potatoes will give an even cook. Potatoes were too starchy. |
Use fresh potatoes and ensure they stay firm during frying. Rinse and dry potato sticks properly to remove starch. |
Fresh fries are not crispy. | The crispiness depends on the amount of oil and water in the fries. | Dry potato sticks properly before adding oil. Cut sticks smaller and add slightly more oil for a crispier result. |
