Instructions for Use
Installation
The minimum safe distances must be observed.
- Carefully turn the electric stove main body over so that the stovetop is resting on the floor; place it onto a soft surface to protect the top from scratches.
- Insert the legs into each slot on the underside of the electric stove main body and fix the eight screws into the predrilled holes, using a crosshead screwdriver.
Note: The electric stove must be operated on a flat, stable and heat-resistant surface.
Warning: Do not connect the electric stove to the mains power supply until all of the instructions have been read, fully understood and the electric stove has been properly and securely fitted.
Before First Use
- Position the electric stove on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface in an open space, at least 1 metre away from furniture, curtains or any other flammable materials.
- If placing the electric stove in an alcove, make sure that there is at least 150 mm of space on all sides, to ensure good air circulation.
- The electric stove must not be located over a mains power socket. The mains power socket must always be accessible in order to disconnect the electric stove from the mains power supply for cleaning, maintenance or when replacing a bulb.
- Check that the vent is not blocked. Keep hearthrugs and other soft furnishings away from the front of the electric stove. They could obstruct the free-flow of hot air from the fan and damage both the soft furnishings and the electric stove.
Note: When using the electric stove for the first time, a slight odour may be emitted. This is normal and will soon subside. Ensure that there is sufficient ventilation around the electric stove.
Caution: The electric stove should be free from noticeable vibrations when it is in operation; vibrations may cause damage to the bulb. Ensure that the electric stove is turned off before moving, attempting maintenance (such as changing bulbs) or cleaning.
Using the Electric Stove
- Plug in and switch on the electric stove at the mains power supply.
- To turn on the electric stove and operate the flame effect with no heat, press the 'On/Off' switch located behind the double glass doors; the switch will illuminate.
- Switch on the heat setting by pressing the heat setting switch. The switch will illuminate to indicate that it has been switched on.
- The adjustable thermostat can be used to regulate the temperature. Turn it in a clockwise direction to increase the heat output. To reduce it, turn the adjustable thermostat in an anticlockwise direction.
- Turn off the electric stove by pressing the 'On/Off' switch.
Note: The electric stove must be turned on using the 'On/Off' switch before any of the heat settings will work.
Control Panel
The control panel is located on the front of the electric stove underneath a cover. The control panel features the following controls:
Control | Function |
---|---|
Adjustable thermostat | This can be used to control the room temperature. |
Heating setting switch | This can be used to operate the heating setting or can be left off to use the 'flame without heat' setting. |
'On/Off' switch | This can be used to operate the ‘flame without heat' setting. |
Note: The electric stove must be turned on using the 'On/Off' switch before any of the other settings will work.
Thermal Cut-Out Device
The electric stove is fitted with a thermal safety cut-out device, built-in to prevent it from overheating. Should the electric stove start to overheat, the thermal safety cut-out system will automatically operate and the heat settings will switch off. If this happens:
- Switch off the electric stove using the 'On/Off' switch.
- Ensure that the electric stove is unplugged from the mains power supply and allow it to cool for approximately 15 minutes.
- Clear any blockages present on the vent, being careful not to damage the electric stove.
- Plug in and switch on the electric stove at the mains power supply.
Caution: In order to avoid a hazard, due to inadvertent resetting of the thermal cut-out, this electric stove must not be supplied through an external switching device such as a timer or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the product.
Care and Maintenance
- Always unplug the electric stove from the mains power supply and allow to cool sufficiently before performing any cleaning or maintenance.
- Wipe the electric stove with a soft, damp cloth and allow to dry thoroughly.
- Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning solvents, as these may damage the finish of the electric stove.
- Do not immerse the electric stove in water or any other liquid.
