Product Details
The camera features a Wi-Fi Antenna, IR & Spotlight, Built-in Mic, Red & Blue Lights, and a QR Code. It also has an Ethernet Cable Connector (optional for hard wire connection), a Power Adapter Connector, and an LED indicator. On the side, there are microSD Card Slots (accessible by removing a cover) and a Reset Button. A speaker is also present.
Let's Get Started
1: Download the App
Download the Defender Guard app and follow the steps to create an account. An email account is required for verification. You can find links to download from the App Store and Google Play.
2. Plug-In Your Camera to Power On
Before connecting your camera to the App, wait 60 seconds for the LED indicator light to flash green.

The camera connects to power via a 12VDC 1.5A adapter and links to the Internet and Wi-Fi.
Setting Up Your Camera
Step 1: Connect to Wi-Fi and Pair Your Camera
IMPORTANT: Before pairing, ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Tap the '+' icon to add your camera, then tap 'Scan QR code' located on the camera. If your mobile device cannot scan the QR code, tap 'Add Manually'.
- Ensure Bluetooth is turned on your phone and tap 'Next'.
- Wait for the camera LED to flash green slowly. Tap 'Next' to proceed.
- To ensure a stable connection, keep your phone, device, and router close to each other.
- Select the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network you want to connect your camera with. Enter your Wi-Fi Network password and tap 'Next'. If your Wi-Fi network is not listed, refresh the page.
- Wait while the device connects to the server. Ensure your phone is connected to the same network.
- Name your device. It is recommended to name your camera if you are connecting more than one. Tap 'Done'. Your device has now been added successfully. Repeat these steps for each additional camera.
- It is recommended to set a password for your camera. Select 'Modify' to create a password.
- Create a password, re-enter it, and select 'Save'.
IMPORTANT: Please remember your password; Defender Support will not be able to reset your password.
Step 2: Activating Your Storage Options
Set up Cloud Recording
Increase your peace of mind with Cloud storage. Gain access to up to 30 days of storage, protect your footage, and access additional features like enhanced AI detection and custom security reports with the optional Cloud plan. After activating your Guard device, press 'Activate' when prompted with the Free Trial popup. Review the terms & conditions and add your payment info to begin.
NOTE: After the 31-day free trial ends, your subscription will automatically renew at the cost of the selected plan. Cancel any time before the trial ends to avoid being charged.
Add a MicroSD Card for Local Storage
Recordings can be stored locally on a microSD card. To insert or swap out your microSD card, follow these steps: The maximum size for each microSD card slot is 512GB.
- Remove the lower cover by unscrewing the Philips screws to access the SD card.
- If swapping out a current microSD card, gently press on the card; it will pop out.
- When inserting your microSD, push it in until you hear a click sound.
Step 3: Position and Install Your Camera
IMPORTANT: Before mounting your camera, use the app to test your Wi-Fi strength and video feed. Plug the camera in the area you'll be monitoring and view your footage to ensure you have a clear, uninterrupted view.
To check your network signal strength, tap [Menu Icon] > Tools > Wi-Fi Detection Tool > Wi-Fi Detection.
Note: Cement walls, exterior finishes, and thick insulation can significantly affect Wi-Fi signal strength.
Using the recommended tools, install your camera in a preferred place, at a height where you can clearly see faces. Make sure there is a nearby power outlet. Your camera can be installed in three ways. Select your desired method to mount your camera(s) and follow the instructions provided on page 14.
IMPORTANT: The Camera Power Supply is NOT waterproof.
TIP: YOUR CAMERA CAN BE INSTALLED IN THREE WAYS. SELECT YOUR DESIRED METHOD TO MOUNT YOUR CAMERA(S) AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED ON PAGE 14.

Using the App
The Defender Guard App allows you to remotely view live video or playback recorded footage, save and share recordings, share App access, and more. Scan the QR Code to download the app.
Frequently Asked Questions
How Many Cameras Can I Connect to the Defender Guard App?
You can connect a total of 60 cameras to the Guard App. However, it is recommended not to connect more than 6 cameras in the same home/building to avoid interference issues. Interference can occur between Defender cameras and other brands.
Can I Allow Other People to View My Camera(s) Remotely?
Yes, you can share the Defender Guard App access with up to 5 additional users. Each user will need to download the Defender Guard App and create their own account before sharing access. Guard Cloud allows users to share access with up to 20 additional users.
Is the AI 3K+ Guard Pro WIFI Tri-Lens PTZ Compatible with Any Defender Camera System?
The AI 3K+ Guard Pro WIFI Tri-Lens PTZ is only compatible with the Defender Guard, Guard Pro, Guard Pro PTZ, Guard Pro Dual-lens, and AI POWERED 3K+ Guard Pro WIFI Tri-Lens PTZ cameras. It cannot be used with any other Defender Camera system.
Can I View My Live or Recorded Footage From a Web Browser?
No, web viewing is not offered. You can view footage from the free Defender Guard app with compatible iOS/Android smartphones/tablets. Alternatively, you may export the footage from the SD card onto a personal computer using a compatible SD card reader.
