1. Remote Control
Remote Control Functions
- [Power] Button: Switch the unit between ON and STANDBY mode.
- [Source] Button: Select the play function.
- [Surround] Button: Adjust the surround ON/OFF.
- [Bluetooth] Button: Select the Bluetooth mode. Press and hold the [Bluetooth] button to activate the pairing function in Bluetooth mode or disconnect the existing paired Bluetooth device.
- [EQ] Button: Select a preset sound effect.
- [Skip Back] / [Skip Forward] Buttons: Skip to previous/next track in BT / USB mode.
- [Volume Up] / [Volume Down] Buttons: Increase/decrease the volume level.
- [Play/Pause] Button: Play/pause/resume playback in BT / USB mode. Press and hold for 3 seconds to enter setup menu.
- [Confirm] Button: Confirm a selection.
- [Bass Up] / [Bass Down] Buttons: Adjust bass level.
- [Treble Up] / [Treble Down] Buttons: Adjust treble level.
- [Dimmer Up] / [Dimmer Down] Buttons: Adjust display brightness.
- [Mute] Button: Mute or resume the sound.
Replacing the Remote Control Battery
- Press and slide the back cover to open the battery compartment.
- Insert two AAA size batteries, ensuring the (+) and (-) ends match the indicated polarity.
- Close the battery compartment cover.
Important: Do not mix old and new batteries; do not mix alkaline, standard (Carbon-Zinc) or rechargeable (Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, etc.) batteries.
2. Identifying the Parts
Main Unit Controls and Indicators
- [Power] Button: Controls power state.
- [Source] Button: Selects the audio source.
- [Volume Up] / [Volume Down] Buttons: Adjusts the volume level.
- ? [Wi-Fi Indicator]:
- Blink (? ⟳): Wi-Fi Access Point (AP) mode.
- Double blink (? ⟲⟲): Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) mode.
- Constant on (? ✔️): Connected/Paired successful.
- [Display Window] / [Remote Sensor]: Shows current status and receives remote signals.
- [Mounting Screws]: Used for wall mounting. Remove these screws to install wall mounting screws into the back of the unit.
- [Wi-Fi Setup] Button: Triggers Wi-Fi setup for Play-Fi. Press and hold for 8 seconds for Wi-Fi Access Point (AP) mode, or 3 seconds for Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) mode.
- [USB Socket] ?: Insert USB devices to play music.
Main Unit Sockets
- [Type-C Socket] ?: For the Dongle of wireless rear surround speaker. The surround kit needs to be purchased separately. This port cannot be used to connect to other Type C devices.
- [Optical Socket]: Connect to the OPTICAL OUT socket on an external device.
- [Coaxial Socket]: Connect to the COAXIAL OUT socket on an external device.
- [HDMI OUT eARC/ARC Socket]: Connects to a TV. Supports eARC/ARC HDMI for audio from the connected TV.
- [HDMI IN 1/2 Sockets]: Two HDMI ports for connecting source devices like DVD players, Blu-ray players, or gaming consoles. Only one HDMI input is usable at a time.
- [AC Power Socket]: Connect to power supply.
Wireless Subwoofer
- [AC Power Socket]: Connect to power supply.
- [Pair Button] ?: Used for manual pairing.
- [Pair Indicator] ?: Shows pairing status.
3. Pair up with the Rear Speakers & Subwoofer
Wireless Rear Speaker Pairing
- [Pair Button] (on Main Unit/Remote): Press to activate pairing between the main unit and surround speakers.
- Indicator (on Rear Speaker):
- Fast blink: Rear Speaker in pairing mode.
- Constant on: Connected/Paired successful.
- Slow blink: Connection/Pairing Failed.
- Surround L/R Switch: Set to Left or Right Surround Speaker.
- [AC Power Socket]: Connect to power supply.
- [Mounting Screws]: Remove screws and install wall mounting screws into the back of the Rear Speaker.
Pair up with the Subwoofer
The subwoofer and soundbar pair automatically when both are powered on. If no audio is heard from the wireless subwoofer, manually pair it:
- Ensure both units are powered on.
- Press the [Pair Button] ? on the subwoofer.
- The [Pair Indicator] ? on the subwoofer will show pairing status.
4. Connect to Wi-Fi
Follow the on-screen prompts in the Hisense or Play-Fi app to connect to your Wi-Fi network.
For AirPlay (iOS):
- Go to Settings > Wi-Fi on your iOS device.
- Select the soundbar from the list of available AirPlay speakers.
- Follow the setup prompts to join your network.
For Play-Fi:
- Download the Play-Fi app.
- Open the app and follow the instructions to set up the soundbar.
Wi-Fi LED Indicator Status:
- Blink (? ⟳): Wi-Fi Access Point (AP) mode.
- Double blink (? ⟲⟲): Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) mode.
- Constant on (? ✔️): Connected/Paired successful.
5. Bluetooth Operation
- On your Bluetooth device, go to Settings > Bluetooth.
- Turn on Bluetooth and search for available devices.
- Select "Hisense U5120GW+" from the list.
- The device will connect. The range is typically up to 8 meters (approx. 26 feet).
6. Select the Play Function
Use the [Source] button on the remote or the main unit to cycle through available input sources. The display window will show the selected mode.

7. Wall Mounting
Follow these steps for wall mounting:
- Remove the screws from the back of the main unit.
- Attach the wall mounting brackets to the unit using the removed screws.
- Determine the desired mounting location on the wall.
- Mark the screw positions on the wall.
- Drill holes and insert wall anchors if necessary.
- Secure the unit to the wall using appropriate screws (not included, use provided wall mounting kit if applicable).
- Ensure the unit is securely fastened before use.
Dimensions for mounting: The distance between the mounting points on the unit is approximately 1156mm.
