The Klaxon Nexus 120 DC Sounder and Sounder-Beacon is a signaling device designed for fire alarm systems and other signaling applications. It offers a variety of tones and can be configured with different flash patterns for visual alerts.

Installation Guide

Mounting:

  1. Mount the base unit and make external wiring connections.
  2. Attach the head unit to the base; it will connect automatically.
  3. To detach the head from the base, unlock the four 1/4-turn fasteners.
  4. Ensure correct orientation of the head unit, especially if a beacon is fitted.

Wiring:

The sounder and beacon have separate wiring terminals, allowing for daisy-chain connections. Terminals are marked for positive and negative supply, and for 2nd and 3rd stage alarm control (connect to 0V to activate).

The Nexus 120 DC series offers a voltage range of 10-60V DC. Sounder current draw is typically 0.5A at 24V for Tone 2. Xenon beacon current is 350mA peak at 24V DC (60 flashes/min), and LED beacon current is 18mA (flashing) or 65mA (static). The sound level can reach 110-120 dBA at 1m. The device supports up to 64 tones and operates within a temperature range of -25°C to +70°C. It features an IP66 rating for environmental protection.
