Introduction
HP Rack Mounting Solutions are designed to simplify everyday tasks for IT technicians and professionals managing data centers. These solutions are engineered with the same customer-centric design principles that have driven the success of the HP Z Workstation product line.
HP engineers have developed low-profile, fixed-rail solutions that can be customized to fit various HP Z Workstations, including the HP Z2 Mini G5, HP Z2 Tower G5, HP Z4 G4, and HP Z6 G4. These systems feature captive fasteners for tool-free access to the workstation.
For the HP Z8 G4 Workstation, HP offers an enterprise-class rail solution that fully extends, allowing for in-rack configuration and tool-free access to internal components.
A Complete Remote Solution
When combined with HP ZCentral Remote Boost software and HP Thin Clients, racked HP Workstations provide a robust remote centralized computing solution. This offers benefits such as faster access to centralized storage, enhanced security, remote management capabilities for distributed teams, and the reliable 24/7 operation characteristic of HP Z Workstations.
The range of HP Workstations available for racking, from the HP Z2 Mini to the HP Z8, allows users to select the performance level that best suits their needs. HP RGS (Remote Graphics Software) is included at no additional cost, facilitating the implementation of a high-performance remote user experience.
Rack Mounting for HP Z2 Mini G3/G4/G5 Workstations
The solution for racking the HP Z2 Mini G3/G4/G5 involves the HP Z2/Z4/Z6 Depth Adjustable Rail Rack Kit (2A8Y5AA) and the HP Z2 Mini Rack Tray Support Kit (1A4W4AA). Each HP Z2 Mini requires the HP Z2 Mini Chassis and ePSU Rack Mount Bracket kit (3RW67AA), which includes one bracket for the chassis and one for the external power supply.
The HP Z2/Z4/Z6 Depth Adjustable Fixed Rail Rack Kit provides fixed-rail support brackets that attach directly to the rack, creating a secure mounting platform for the system tray and workstation. These rails are adjustable to accommodate racks from 24 to 30 inches deep. The HP Z2 Mini is installed vertically, with up to 7 units fitting in a 5U space.

Rack Mounting for HP Z2 Tower G4 and G5, HP Z4 G4 and HP Z6 G4 Workstations
The HP Z2/Z4/Z6 Depth Adjustable Fixed Rail Rack Kit (2A8Y5AA) is used for these workstations. It includes fixed-rail support brackets that attach directly to the rack, providing a secure mounting platform for the system tray and workstation. The adjustable rails accommodate racks from 24 to 30 inches deep. The system tray is designed for tool-free access, allowing for servicing without removing the workstation from the rack.

Rack Mounting for HP ZCentral 4R Workstations
The HP ZCentral 4R rack rails (16G60AA) offer 26 inches of travel, allowing the unit to slide completely out of the rack for servicing and installation. The outer rail members feature tool-less front and rear mounting brackets compatible with various rack post hole types (9.5 mm square, 7.1 mm round, or #10-32). These outer rails are adjustable for racks 24 to 36 inches deep.
Inner rail members attach to the chassis and slide into the outer members. An optional Cable Management Arm (35Z34AA) can be attached to the inner sliding rails to allow the system to extend without disconnecting rear data and power cables. The inner rails may extend beyond the rear bracket depending on rack depth and if the Cable Management Arm is attached.

Rack Mounting for HP Z8 G4 Workstations
The HP Z640/Z840/Z8 G4 Rail Rack Kit (2FZ77AA) features enterprise-class, three-section ball-bearing extension rails that are fully extendable for servicing. This allows for easy upgrades like adding memory or swapping hard drives without removing the workstation from the rack.
These rails install tool-lessly into racks. The inner slide and mounting flanges attach to the chassis with screws for stability. Top mounting holes are concealed under a removable plastic trim.
The HP Z640/Z840/Z8 G4 Rail Rack Kit is adjustable for racks 24-30 inches deep, catering to specific industry needs like the Broadcast industry.
For upgrading from the HP Adjustable Rail Rack Flush Mount Kit (B8S55AA), HP offers the HP Z8 Rack Rail Upgrade Kit (2FZ76AA). This kit includes inner slide rails, front flanges, and hardware for a seamless upgrade to the HP Z8 G4 without removing existing rack kit hardware.

How HP Rack Kits Fit "U"
Rack units are measured in "U", where 1U equals 1.75 inches (44.45 mm). HP rack kits are designed to optimize workstation distribution within a server rack, ensuring adequate airflow and clearance for servicing.
