ENGWE O14 Electric Bike User Manual

1. Important Warning

This manual includes important safety performance information and service information. Please ensure you have read the following warning content before using the product for the first time.

If you lend your electric bicycle to others, please let the user read this manual to help reduce the risk of accidents.

Wear a suitable and safe helmet before riding. Wear clothes with fluorescent and reflective stripes when riding at night. Do not exceed the speed limit, as it is a primary cause of traffic accidents. Adhere to traffic rules and do not exceed the speed limit.

Do not touch the charging hole on the bike with metal objects, as this can cause a transient short circuit of the current.

Zero starting, frequent braking, riding against the wind, carrying excessive loads, or insufficient tire pressure will consume significant electric energy and reduce the endurance mileage. For optimal endurance mileage, follow these guidelines:

  1. Please use assist mode.
  2. Prioritize safety: avoid frequent braking or zero starting.
  3. Do not overload the e-bike.
  4. Before riding, check tire pressure and ensure it is adequately inflated.

The ENGWE e-bike should avoid prolonged exposure to sun or rain, and storage in places with high temperatures or corrosive gases, to prevent damage to electroplated parts and paint surfaces from chemical corrosion, and to avoid damage to electrical components, which could lead to operational failure and accidents.

Your current insurance may not cover situations encountered while riding an electric bike. Please contact your insurance company or broker for relevant consultation.

If using the e-bike in your country, please refer to local laws and regulations. For example, in China, riders must be at least 16 years old.

Bicycles are vehicles with inherent risk factors. Please abide by traffic rules. When performing emergency braking, brake the rear wheel first, then the front wheel, especially at high cycling speeds. Braking the front wheel suddenly can cause tipping over; please ride carefully.

  • Headlight indicator
  • Speed indicator (real-time speed, maximum speed (MAXS), and average speed (AVG))
  • Distance indicator (ODO and trip distance (Trip))
  • Error code indicator
  • Bluetooth connection indicator (reserved)
  • Parameter setting function

4.2 Functional Area Layout

The display features indicators for battery level, speed, assist level, maximum speed, trip distance (ODO/TRIP), and status icons for Bluetooth and headlights. It also shows speed units (km/h or MPH) and average speed.

5. General Operation

5.1 Power On/Off

Press and hold the [power button] to turn on the display and the e-bike's controller. Press and hold the [power button] again to power off the e-bike. In the power-off state, the display consumes less than 1uA. The e-bike will automatically power off after 10 minutes of inactivity.

5.2 Display Interface

Upon powering on, the display shows real-time speed (km/h) and trip distance (km) by default. Pressing the [power button] cycles through trip distance (km), ODO (km), maximum speed (km/h), and average speed (km/h). The distance display resets to zero after reaching 9999.9 km.

5.3 Push Assistance

Press and hold the [minus button] to enable electric push assistance mode. The e-bike will maintain a constant speed of 6km/h, indicated by 'P' on the display. 6. Battery

The range of a fully charged battery depends on factors like rider weight, road conditions, and battery capacity. Under similar conditions, maintaining average speeds allows for longer travel distances.

When storing the battery for extended periods (e.g., during winter), it is important to keep it in a dry place.

Attention: The battery should be recharged every 2-3 months if not in use.

WARNING:

  • Keep the battery out of reach of children.
  • Never attempt to open the battery.
  • Only use the ENGWE supplied battery. Do not use batteries from other product models.
  • If the battery is damaged due to dropping or an accident, there is a risk of electrolyte leakage. Beware of chemical burns and stop using the damaged battery immediately.
  • Do not touch the battery without gloves or a cloth, and ensure no acid contacts your eyes.
  • Do not store the battery in temperatures above 95°F (35°C) or below 23°F (-5°C).

Do not allow the battery to fully discharge before charging. Charge the battery before storing the product. A completely empty battery may become unchargeable.

Charge a new battery for at least 4-6 hours before its first use. Avoid overcharging or undercharging, as this can shorten battery life and reduce product run time.

IMPORTANT: BATTERY DISPOSAL

  • Battery must be recycled or disposed of in an environmentally sound manner.
  • Do not dispose of the battery in a fire, as it may explode or leak.
  • Do not dispose of the battery in regular household trash.

7. Charging

You can charge the bike directly or remove the battery for charging. A RED light indicates charging, and a GREEN light indicates the battery is fully charged. (Please unplug from the wall after charging). Charging time is typically 4-6 hours, depending on the remaining battery capacity.

WARNING:

  • Charging for over 10 hours is prohibited. Keep the charger away from high temperatures and store it in a cool place.
  • Ensure the battery charger and charging plug are always kept dry and never get wet.
  • Clean the charger only with a dry cloth. Never use a wet cloth, oil, or any other liquid.
  • Do not connect positive and negative terminals.
  • Stop the charging procedure immediately if you notice anything unusual.
  • It is strictly forbidden to cut the battery charging and discharging lines.
  • It is strictly forbidden to disassemble the battery box or modify the internal structure and protection board of the lithium battery.
  • After using the battery, please charge it within 12 hours.

If the product experiences issues during the protection period, customer service will be provided as part of the product quality guarantee.
