3.0 Checking Package Contents

Before attempting to use this unit, please check the packaging and make certain the following items are contained in the shipping carton:

  • 1332 or 1334 DVI Switcher with Remote Control
  • DVI Cable
  • 9 VDC AC Adapter
  • User Manual

Note: Please retain the original packing material should the need ever arise to return the unit. If you find any items are missing, contact Audio Authority immediately. Have the Model Number, Serial Number and Invoice available for reference when you call.

4.0 Connecting The Hardware

Please study the panel drawings and become familiar with the signal inputs, output, power requirements/inputs plus any controls present.

5.0 Operating The Unit

Before installation, please make sure all devices to be connected to the switcher have been turned off.

  • Connect your DVI display to the switcher's DVI output with a high-quality DVI cable. (Note: some HDMI displays may not perform correctly if the switcher's output signal is converted to HDMI.)
  • Connect 2 or 4 DVI sources to the switcher's inputs (total depends on switcher model) with a high-quality DVI cable.
  • Plug the 9 VDC power adapter into the rear of the unit.
  • Plug the Power Adapter into a working AC outlet.
  • Power on all input and output devices.
  • Select the DVI source you want to view as explained below.

You can select the inputs you want to access in two ways: front panel push button selection or via the remote control included with the package content.

5.1 Front Panel Push Button Selection

Push button selection is used to select the input to be displayed on the screen. Pressing the button during normal operation will cause the next input position to be selected in sequence.

5.2 Remote Control Selection

Input selection is also possible using the provided remote by pressing the appropriate button.

If you have a problem with the IR control conflicting with other devices, the remote allows users to reconfigure four (A, B, C, D) alternate combinations of IR codes. The default code is A.

Push and hold the IR code button (A, B, C or D) on the remote control panel for 2 seconds. The 7-segment LED display will show the IR code for one second when the new IR code is set.

6.0 Troubleshooting

If the switcher does not appear to be functioning, make certain that all the DVI sources and the DVI capable monitor are functioning correctly by connecting each DVI source in turn directly to the monitor using a cable with a length of 6 feet or less. If the signal is present under those conditions, make certain that the power is present on the switcher. If it is, measure the cable length you are attempting to use between the sources to the switcher and the switcher to the monitor. The cables must be 6 foot long or less. Lastly, inspect the cables and connectors for damage.

6.1 HDMI Displays

The 1332 or 1334 DVI output signal can be converted to HDMI using a cable or converter, but the resulting signal may not be compatible with all HDMI displays.

6.2 Cable Length

If you need to span a distance of greater than 6 feet, purchase Audio Authority's 1351 Repeater which will allow you to extend a cable run up to 40 feet.

6.3 Complex Configurations

Due to the nature of High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection, and the many types of information that must be passed along the chain of devices, complex configurations involving DVI distribution amps and switchers may not work as expected. Do not use a DVI switcher in the signal path after a distribution amp; this configuration does not work.

If the problem still persists after trying the above suggestions, contact the Audio Authority Technical Service department via email: support@audioauthority.com, or call 800/322-8346 or 859/233-4599.

7.0 Limited Warranty

Should any consumer product from Audio Authority fail due to defects in materials or workmanship within one year from the date of the original sale to the end-user, Audio Authority guarantees that we will replace the defective product at no cost. Freight charges for the replacement unit will be paid by Audio Authority (Ground service only). A copy of the invoice showing the item number and date of purchase (proof-of-purchase) must be submitted with the defective unit to constitute a valid in-warranty claim.

Units that fail after the warranty period has expired may be returned to the factory for repair at a nominal charge, if not damaged beyond the point of repair. All freight charges for out-of-warranty returns for repair are the responsibility of the customer. Units returned for repair must have a Return Authorization Number assigned by the factory.

This is a limited warranty and is not applicable for products which, in our opinion, have been damaged, altered, abused, misused, or improperly installed. Audio Authority makes no other warranties either expressed or implied, including limitation warranties as to merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Additionally, there are no allowances or credits available for service work or installation performed in the field by the end user.

7.1 Warranty Service Procedures

If you suspect a product defect, contact Audio Authority's Technical Service Department at 800.322.8346 or 859.233.4599 for assistance in verifying the problem. If a defect or potential defect is suspected, a replacement unit will be shipped immediately on a defect-exchange basis and a Return Authorization Number will be issued for the return of the defective product. Replacement units are sent out at the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price which is debited to the Customer's Credit Card at the time of shipment. Once we receive the defective unit back at the factory, it will be evaluated under the conditions of this warranty and if found to be in-warranty, a full credit will be issued to the Customer's Credit Card. Return freight charges for the defective unit are the customer's responsibility.

Please contact our Technical Service Department for complete details concerning all in and out of warranty service matters.

We appreciate your confidence in our products and services and will always strive to meet or exceed your needs.
