Installation Steps

1. Preparation

   Turn off your computer and unplug the power cord. Open the computer case. If an existing CPU cooler is installed, carefully remove it. Clean the CPU surface with an alcohol wipe to remove old thermal paste.

2. Mounting Bracket Installation

   • Place the provided backplate on the rear of the motherboard, aligning the holes with the CPU socket.
   • Insert the standoffs through the backplate and motherboard holes.
   • Screw the mounting brackets onto the standoffs on the front of the motherboard.

   For AMD:

   • Remove the stock AMD mounting bracket from the motherboard.
   • Use the provided standoffs and screws to secure the AMD mounting brackets to the motherboard.

3. Applying Thermal Paste

   Apply a small amount of the included thermal paste to the center of the CPU. A pea-sized amount is usually sufficient. Avoid spreading it manually.

4. Mounting the Cooler

   Carefully align the CPU cooler heatsink with the mounting brackets. Secure the cooler by tightening the screws in a diagonal pattern (cross-pattern) to ensure even pressure. Do not overtighten.

5. Connecting the Fan

   Connect the fan cable to the CPU_FAN header on the motherboard. Ensure the fan is oriented for proper airflow (typically blowing towards the rear of the case).

6. Final Checks

   Double-check all connections and ensure the cooler is securely mounted. Close the computer case and reconnect the power cord. Turn on the computer.

Troubleshooting

If the CPU temperature is high, ensure the thermal paste was applied correctly and the cooler is securely mounted. Verify the fan is spinning and connected to the CPU_FAN header.
