KREAFUNK CARE: Less Plastic? Yes, Please!
We had a great idea! Why not try to reduce the amount of plastic in our lifestyle products? The idea became a reality in the first month of 2020 with KREAFUNK CARE, which is a more environmentally friendly approach to how we do business.
To be exact, in the CARE collection, we have managed to reduce the amount of plastic in each product by 35%. The plastic was replaced with wheat straw fibers, which are a natural byproduct of wheat production. We entered into a solid collaboration with the Danish textile company Gabriel®, which has developed textiles from recycled polyester.
And the quality is undeniable! Even though we have replaced a large part of the plastic with natural fibers and added a textile front, the crisp sound you know from our other products is just as fantastic as it always is.
And we didn't stop there. We seized the opportunity to switch to more environmentally friendly packaging. The new packaging is made from recycled paper, and everything is printed with soy-based ink. After use, it can be sent for recycling. Again and again and again.
In fact, the CARE assortment supports charitable causes that work to make the world a better place. We do this by donating two Danish kroner per sold CARE product in 2022. In 2021, we sold almost 54,300 products from our CARE collection. This means that 108,528 DKK will go directly to charitable causes. We support The Ocean Cleanup, whose mission is to develop advanced technologies to clean the world's oceans of plastic. In addition, we support OneTreePlanted, and together with them, we will plant 5,426 trees - equivalent to 18 football fields.
