The EcoFlow PowerInsight is a smart home energy manager designed to provide real-time energy data and control for your home's power system. It connects to the EcoFlow IoT cloud via Wi-Fi and can integrate with other smart home devices using the Matter protocol.
Key Components:
The device displays current generation, home usage, temperature, and time. It also shows remaining battery time.
PowerInsight connects to the EcoFlow IoT cloud via Wi-Fi to access your system data and manage your power system's lifecycle, from generation to storage and consumption. It supports integration with devices from other brands via the Matter protocol, such as thermostats, smart plugs, and smart light bulbs.
Follow the on-screen prompts to finish initializing and start using the device.
Note: PowerInsight has a built-in battery providing approximately 3 hours of battery life during continuous operation.
PowerInsight supports controlling the following devices:
Note: The list of supported devices is updated continuously. Some EcoFlow products may not be available in all regions.
Add new devices via the EcoFlow app. PowerInsight automatically synchronizes added devices. If the app includes devices not supported by PowerInsight, they will not be displayed.
Bring your phone close to the device and connect to the internet according to the app's instructions. A "How to connect" link is typically provided.
To add Matter-supported devices (thermostats, light bulbs, smart plugs) for a smarter home:
Once added, you can control the device through the PowerInsight or EcoFlow app.
Notice: Ensure the Wi-Fi ? network used by your phone is the same as the local area network configured for PowerInsight. Only 2.4G Wi-Fi is supported for device connection.
In the EcoFlow app, navigate to + > Add devices > Add third-party devices to bind an account from another service.
You can mount PowerInsight on a wall using the provided bracket, place it on a tablet stand holder (not included), or hold it directly.
Caution: Mounting PowerInsight at a height of less than 1.5 meters (approx. 5 feet) is recommended. The wall bracket supports mounting only in landscape orientation.
A USB-C charger (at least 10W) and a level tool are not included.
Step-by-step installation details are also available in the supplied quick start guide.
View real-time energy data for your home on the PowerInsight's home page or tap widgets to access the dashboard for more detailed information. You can control your home system or individual devices, including turning AC ports, DC ports, or circuits on/off.
The operating mode (e.g., TOU mode, Self-powered, Charging) is displayed in the first widget on the home page. Tap this widget to switch modes.
Notice: The features and home page layout may vary depending on the connected system and added devices.
On standby, the screen saver displays temperature, humidity, time, and energy data.
Dashboard elements:
Tap widgets on the home page to enter the dashboard. The dashboard provides detailed data by day, month, or year. You can view solar power generation (in "Total savings"), total discharge and charge in "Battery", and total consumption in "Home / Grid".
The dashboard displays graphs for solar generation, consumption, battery status, and earnings, with options to view data by Day, Week, Month, or Year.
Appliances like smart plugs and thermostats added via the EcoFlow app are displayed in the device list. Tap on a device widget to control it.
The list shows various devices such as Oven, Laundry machine, Kitchen light, Air-conditioning, Smart plugs, Thermostat, and Refrigerator, along with their current status (e.g., ON/OFF, power consumption).
Add automation tasks through the EcoFlow app. PowerInsight will automatically synchronize these tasks. Tap an automation task on the Automation page to execute it.
Swipe down from the top-right corner of any page to access quick settings. Here you can turn Wi-Fi ? and Bluetooth ? on/off, adjust screen brightness, enable Do Not Disturb, or enter the main Settings page ⚙️ for more options.
The Wi-Fi page offers two tabs: "Internet connection" and "Local area network".
Notice: Ensure the Wi-Fi ? network used by your phone is the same as the local area network configured for PowerInsight.
Matter is an open standard for smart home technology, allowing devices to work with any Matter-certified ecosystem using a single protocol. You can integrate Matter-supported devices into the EcoFlow system for unified control.
For adding Matter devices, PowerInsight should be set as the central gateway. Refer to the "Add Matter-supported Devices to EcoFlow System" section for instructions.
Adjust brightness: Dim the screen to save battery or use "Adaptive brightness". You can manually adjust brightness in quick settings or via Settings ⚙️ > Display & brightness. Adaptive brightness automatically adjusts screen brightness based on the environment.
Standby: Configure automatic standby after a set time (30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, or never) via Settings ⚙️ > Display & brightness > Auto standby.
You can enable/disable the screensaver by switching "Turn off screen when on standby" on/off in Settings ⚙️ > Display & brightness.
Enable/disable automatic wake-up by switching "Proximity wake-up" on/off in Settings ⚙️ > Display & brightness. When enabled, the home page will display as you approach PowerInsight (within 0.5 meters / 20 inches).
Go to Settings ⚙️ > Sound to adjust system sounds or enable/disable touch sound effects.
Navigate to Settings ⚙️ > General to configure the date, time format, language, or unit of temperature.
To restore factory settings, go to Settings ⚙️ > General. The device will restart, and you will need to log in again.
New features and improvements are delivered through system updates for PowerInsight.
