01 Information on PHANTOM & PHANTOM ANC

Visor Operation

Opening/Closing Visor: The visor can be opened or closed by sliding it.

Removal/Installation: To remove or install the visor mechanism, press and slide the components as indicated in the diagrams.

02 Basic Operations

Button Operations

• Touch: Press the button the specified number of times.
• Press and Hold: Press and hold the button for the specified duration.
• Voice Prompt: Listen for voice prompts.
• Voice Command: Use voice commands.
• LED: Indicator lights.

Charging

Charging: Connect the USB-C cable to the charging port. The charging LED indicates the charging status.

Full Charge: The charging LED indicates when the battery is fully charged.

A full battery charge takes approximately 2.5 hours.

• PHANTOM and PHANTOM ANC offer rapid charging, providing 7 hours of Mesh Intercom with just 20 minutes of charge.
• The Safe Power mode provides continuous power without recharging, ensuring uninterrupted and safe road use.
• Any third-party USB charger with FCC, CE, IC, or local certification can be used.
• Using unapproved chargers may cause fires, explosions, leaks, and other risks, potentially reducing battery life or performance.

Operation Details

Power On

Press and hold the power button for 1 second.

Power Off

[1x press] the power button.

Volume

[1x press] the volume button, or use the alternative method shown.

Configuration

Accessing Configuration Menu

[10s hold] the button. A voice prompt "Menu configuration" will be heard.

Navigation

[1x press] the button to navigate, or use the alternative method shown.

Confirmation

[1x press] the button to confirm.

03 ANC & Ambient Mode

ANC (Active Noise Cancellation)

When ANC is active, the helmet detects external sounds and generates sound waves to cancel them, reducing ambient noise.

Activate/Deactivate ANC

[1x press] the button. Voice prompts: "Attivazione ANC" (Activation) or "Disattivazione ANC" (Deactivation).

Ambient Mode

When Ambient Mode is active, it allows you to clearly hear external sounds while wearing the helmet.

Activate/Deactivate Ambient Mode

[1s hold] the button. Voice prompts: "Attivazione Ambiente" (Activation) or "Disattivazione Ambiente" (Deactivation).

Activating ANC while Ambient Mode is on will deactivate Ambient Mode.

04 LED Light

Note: In some geographical areas, local laws and regulations may limit the use of LEDs on helmets. Ensure you are aware of and comply with applicable laws and regulations in your area.

Front Light On/Off

[1x press] the button. Voice prompts: "Accensione luce anteriore" (On) or "Spegnimento luce anteriore" (Off).

The front light automatically turns off approximately 5 minutes after activation.

Rear Light On/Off

[1x press] the button. Voice prompts: "Attivazione luce posteriore" (On) or "Disattivazione luce posteriore" (Off).

The rear light can be customized via the Sena Motorcycles app. The brake light automatically activates when braking is detected.

05 Pairing with Bluetooth Devices

When using PHANTOM or PHANTOM ANC for the first time with other Bluetooth devices, pairing is required. PHANTOM and PHANTOM ANC can pair with multiple devices, including two phones and a GPS. However, they can only connect to one additional device simultaneously, besides the phone.

Phone Pairing

1. Step 1: [5s hold] the button.
2. Step 2: On your smartphone, search for Bluetooth devices and select the helmet.

"Accoppiamento telefono" (Phone pairing) voice prompt.

Upon first power-on or after a reset, the devices automatically enter phone pairing mode. To cancel phone pairing, press any button.

Pairing Second Phone

1. Step 1: [10s hold] the button.
2. Step 2: [1x press] the button. Voice prompt: "Menu configurazione" (Configuration Menu).
3. Step 3: Select "Pair second phone" on your device. Voice prompt: "Accoppiamento secondo telefono" (Second phone pairing).

GPS Pairing

1. Step 1: [10s hold] the button.
2. Step 2: [2x press] the button. Voice prompt: "Menu configurazione" (Configuration Menu).
3. Step 3: Select "Pair GPS" on your device. Voice prompt: "Accoppiamento GPS" (GPS pairing).

06 Using with a Smartphone

Making and Answering Calls

Answer a Call

[1x press] the button.

End Call

[2s hold] the button.

Reject Call

[2s hold] the button.

Siri or Google Assistant

To activate Siri or Google Assistant, say "Hey Siri", "Hey Google", or press the center button for 3 seconds.

[3s hold] the button. Voice prompt: "Hey Google" or "Hey Siri".

Speed Dial

Assigning Speed Dial Numbers

Speed dial numbers can be assigned using the Sena Motorcycles app.

Using Speed Dial Numbers

1. Access Speed Dial Menu: [3s hold] the button. Voice prompt: "Chiamata rapida" (Speed dial).
2. Navigate Speed Dial Numbers: [1x press] to move forward or backward through pre-set speed dial numbers. Options include: 1. Redial last number, 2. Speed dial (1-2-3), 3. Cancel.
3. Confirm Selection: [1x press] the center button. Voice prompt: "Chiamata rapida(#)" (Speed dial #).

Music

Music Playback/Pause

[1s hold] the button.

Next/Previous Track

[1s hold] the button, or use the alternative method shown.

07 Mesh Intercom

PHANTOM and PHANTOM ANC feature two Mesh Intercom modes:

• Open Mesh™: For open group intercom conversations.
• Group Mesh™: For private group intercom conversations.

Changing Mesh Version

Switch to Mesh 2.0 for Backward Compatibility

Mesh 3.0 is the latest Mesh Intercom technology, but communication with previous series products is possible using Mesh 2.0, which can be activated via the Sena Motorcycles app.

Open Mesh

You can communicate freely with a virtually unlimited number of users on each of the 6 available channels. The default Mesh Intercom channel is 1.

Activate/Deactivate Mesh Intercom

[1x press] the button. Voice prompts: "Mesh intercom attivo, Open Mesh, Canale 1" (Activation) or "Mesh Intercom non attivo" (Deactivation).

Microphone Mute/Unmute

Press the Mesh Intercom button until you hear the voice prompt to mute or unmute the microphone during Mesh Intercom communication.

[1s hold] the button. Voice prompts: "Microfono non attivo" (Mute) or "Microfono attivo" (Unmute).

Channel Selection

1. Access Channel Setting: [2x press] the button.
2. Navigate Channels: [1x press] or use the alternative method. Voice prompts: "Impostazione canale, 1" (Channel setting, 1) or "#".
3. Confirm and Save Channel: [1x press] the button. Voice prompt: "Canale impostato, canale #" (Channel set, channel #).

If no button is pressed on a specific channel for 10 seconds, the channel is saved automatically. The channel is also saved when the helmet is turned off.

Group Mesh

Creating a Group Mesh

Using Group Mesh, you can create a private group conversation with up to 24 participants.

Step 1: Initial users (User, A, and B) enter the group mesh by pressing the Mesh Intercom button until a voice prompt is heard while in Open Mesh. You do not need to be on the same Open Mesh channel to create a Group Mesh.

[5s hold] the button. Voice prompt: "Gruppo mesh" (Group mesh).

Step 2: When the group mesh is completed, it automatically switches from Open Mesh to Group Mesh.

Voice prompt: "Group Mesh".

If you wish to cancel the group mesh, press the Mesh Intercom button.

[1x press] the button.

If the group mesh is not completed within 30 seconds, users will hear the voice prompt "Errore gruppo" (Group error).

Joining an Existing Group Mesh

During a Group Mesh, you can invite other users in Open Mesh to join the group.

Initial user is already in Group Mesh with A and B, while users C and D are in Open Mesh.

Step 1: The initial user and other users (C and D) enter the group mesh by pressing the Mesh Intercom button until the voice prompt is heard.

[5s hold] the button. Voice prompt: "Gruppo mesh" (Group mesh).

Step 2: Upon completion of the group mesh, other users (C and D) automatically join the Group Mesh while leaving Open Mesh.

Voice prompt: "Group Mesh".

New participants (C and D).

If the group mesh is not completed within 30 seconds, the current user (initial user) will hear a double low-tone beep, while new users (C and D) will hear the voice prompt "Errore gruppo" (Group error).

Switching Open/Group Mesh

You can switch between Open Mesh and Group Mesh without resetting the mesh.

Open Mesh: [3s hold] the button. Voice prompt: "Open Mesh".

Group Mesh: [3s hold] the button. Voice prompt: "Group Mesh".

If you have never participated in a Group Mesh, you cannot switch between Open Mesh and Group Mesh. The voice prompt "Nessun gruppo disponibile" (No group available) will be issued.

Request Mesh Participation

The initial user (caller) can send a Mesh participation request to activate Mesh Intercom for nearby friends* who have disabled the functionality.

1. To send or receive a Mesh participation request, you must enable this function in the Sena Motorcycles app.
2. You can send a Mesh participation request using the Mesh Intercom button or the Sena Motorcycles app.

Caller

[3x press] the button. Voice prompts: "Richiesta di partecipazione Mesh" (Request for Mesh participation) for the caller, and "Richiesta Intercom Mesh" (Mesh Intercom request) for nearby friends.

Friends who receive the Mesh participation request must manually activate their Mesh Intercom function.

*Up to approximately 100m in open spaces.

Mesh Reset

If PHANTOM or PHANTOM ANC resets the mesh while in Open Mesh or Group Mesh mode, they will automatically return to Open Mesh, Channel 1.

[8s hold] the button. Voice prompt: "Ripristinare Mesh" (Restore Mesh).

08 Wave Intercom

Wave Intercom allows open communication via cellular data. For detailed information, consult the Wave Intercom User Guide at sena.com.

Activate/Deactivate Wave Intercom

Open the WAVE Intercom app, then press the Mesh Intercom button twice to join a Wave Intercom conversation.

• You must open the app before starting Wave Intercom.

[2x press] the button. Voice prompt: "Wave Intercom attivo" (Wave Intercom active).

[1x press] the button. Voice prompt: "Wave Intercom non attivo" (Wave Intercom not active).

When you start Wave Intercom, the device connects to users within the Wave Zone. The Wave Zone covers a radius of 5 miles in North America and 8 km in Europe.

To end Wave Intercom, press the Mesh Intercom button once.

Switching Between Wave Intercom and Mesh Intercom

You can easily switch between Mesh Intercom and Wave Intercom with a single press of the center button.

[1x press] the button. Voice prompts: "Wave Intercom non attivo. Mesh Intercom attivo." (From Wave to Mesh) or "Mesh Intercom non attivo. Wave Intercom attivo." (From Mesh to Wave).

When the app is in use, the Bluetooth Intercom function is temporarily disabled.

09 Audio Multitasking

The Audio Multitasking function on PHANTOM or PHANTOM ANC allows you to listen to music and GPS turn-by-turn directions while having a Mesh Intercom conversation. For more details, go to Device Settings in the Sena Motorcycles app to configure settings.

Sidetone Volume

The volume of sidetone audio, such as music playback, is reduced during an active intercom conversation. You can adjust the volume reduction percentage in the app under 'Sidetone Volume'.

10 Voice Command

PHANTOM and PHANTOM ANC offer multilingual voice commands in eight different languages, easily set up through the Sena Motorcycles app. The Sena Motorcycles app also provides a complete list of available voice commands.

To activate voice commands, simply say "Hey Sena".

11 Firmware Update

Over-the-Air (OTA) Update

You can update the firmware via Over-the-Air (OTA) directly from the Sena Motorcycles app settings.

12 Troubleshooting

Reset

To restore the helmet to factory settings, use the reset function.

1. Step 1: [10s hold] the button. Voice prompt: "Menu configurazione" (Configuration Menu).
2. Step 2: [2x press] the button. Voice prompt: "Reset di fabbrica" (Factory reset).
3. Step 3: [1x press] the button. Voice prompt: "Reset cuffie, arrivederci" (Headset reset, goodbye).

Reset After Error

If the helmet is on but unresponsive, you can perform an error reset to restore normal operation. Use a paperclip to press the reset hole located next to the USB-C charging port. All settings will remain unchanged.
