STEP 1: Prepare the door and check dimensions

If drilling a new door, use the supplied template and complete door drilling instructions.

  1. Measure to confirm the hole in the door is 2-1/8" (54 mm).
  2. Measure to confirm the backset is either 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" (60 or 70 mm).
  3. Measure to confirm the hole in the door edge is 1" (25 mm).
  4. Measure to confirm the thickness of the door is between 1-3/8" and 2" (35mm and 50mm).

STEP 2: Install the latch and strike

  1. Insert the latch bolt into the door:
    • Ensure the T-shaped hole is in the bottom position.
    • If the latch bolt is not retracted, twist it to adjust the length.
    • Proceed to the next step.
  2. Install strike on the door frame:
    • Make sure the hole in the door frame is drilled a minimum of 1" (25mm) deep.

STEP 3: Install the exterior assembly

  1. Remove the mounting plate by loosening the two screws.
  2. Route the cable through the bottom of the mounting plate.
  3. Tighten screws evenly.
  4. Ensure a tight cable connection. The smooth side of the plug should be at the bottom.
  5. Tighten screws evenly.
  6. Note: Support the exterior assembly during mounting plate installation.
  7. Testing: Insert key and test latch. If the latch does not extend or retract smoothly, adjust the mounting plate screws.
  8. Troubleshooting: If the keypad and mounting plate have deflection, loosen mounting plate screws and adjust.

STEP 5: Install the batteries and perform the door handing process

Note: Do not use rechargeable batteries or Non-alkaline batteries.

  1. Install 4 AA batteries in the battery pack. The batteries are not included.
  2. Perform the door handing process: Press the button, and the latch bolt extends by itself.

Troubleshooting: If the latch bolt extends or retracts not smoothly, check the latch and re-install the lock.

Make sure the door is unlocked and that you are using a fresh set of batteries.

Two methods to download Tuya App:

Connect smart lock

Turn on Bluetooth and the mobile network ➔ Auto Scan ➔ Choose Smart Lock ➔ Connecting ➔ Added Successfully.

Attention: The smart lock and the phone can only have a one-to-one connection at the same time. If your phone is connecting with the smart lock, another phone cannot connect.

How to set up a new entrance

Me ➔ Home Management ➔ Create a Home ➔ Add Member.

  1. Step 1: Invite your members to family with an invite code via Tuya account, WeChat, and SMS.
  2. Step 2: Control smart lock (Two ways)
    1. Administrator: Home ➔ Member management ➔ Open mode ➔ Password ➔ Create a password to members.
    2. Users: Control smart lock by swiping phone.
  3. Step 3: Set up a new entrance successfully.

How to modify password

Home ➔ Member management ➔ Open mode ➔ Password ➔ Update ➔ Change password.

How to delete password

Home ➔ Member management ➔ Open mode ➔ Password ➔ Delete.

How to set delay time

Settings ➔ Auto ➔ locking(open) ➔ Delay time.

How should I do if I can't connect to smart lock

Restart the Bluetooth, and try again.

How many passwords can be added

Up to ten passwords can be added.

Keypad Layout:

Protection Mode

If you enter the wrong code 5 times, the keypad will be locked for 90 seconds. You will hear 3 beeps and see 3 red lights when you press any button.

How to exit protection mode:

Factory default reset

A factory reset will delete all codes associated with the lock.

  1. Open the battery cover.
  2. Keep pressing the SET button for more than 5 seconds until the lock beeps 5 times and the light flashes blue 5 times. Then, the lock will beep once and flash green once, indicating a successful reset.

System Alerts

Alert Reason Solution
Button flashes red 3 times with 3 beeps. Door jammed while attempting to lock. Manually re-lock door. If needed, reposition strike.
Button flashes red 3 times with 3 beeps. Incorrect User Code entered. Re-enter User Code.
Button flashes red 3 times with 3 beeps. 5 incorrect User Codes entered within one minute. Re-enter User Code after 90 seconds keypad lock out.
LED red light when press any button. Low battery. Replace batteries.
LED red light when press any button, and cannot unlock/lock. Super low battery. Replace batteries.
LED green light and beeps 1 second after press unlock/lock button. The lock no respond. Poor quality battery. Replace batteries.
The keypad and light indicator no respond. Battery run out. Use Micro-USB supply power to unlock or key to unlock, then replace batteries.
The keypad and light indicator no respond. Bad cable connection. Re-connect the cable.
