4. FAQ List
4.1 Transmitter Not Switching Lamp After New Transmitter Added
Prerequisite: Both transmitters must be in the same network (cf. BDA - 4.3).
Behavior: If not, the existing connection is "stolen".
Solution: Connection to a lamp can only be established after both transmitters are in the same network.
4.2 Lamp Not Controllable via App After New Transmitter Added
Prerequisite: Transmitter must be in the same network as the Bridge/Gateway (cf. BDA - 4.1).
Behavior: If not, the connection to the Bridge/Gateway is "stolen".
Solution: Connection to a lamp can only be established after the Bridge/Gateway and the transmitter are in the same network.
4.3 Lights Not Responding to Commands with Osram Lightify Gateway
Prerequisites:
- Using Osram Lightify Gateway (WLAN Version: 1.1.2.107, ZigBee Version: 1.2.0.67).
- Switching lights off via conventional switch.
Behavior:
- All lights (regardless of manufacturer) can no longer be operated by the transmitter.
- Lightify Gateway ignores third-party connections.
Solution: Lights must not be switched off via a conventional switch when using the Lightify Gateway with the specified software version.
4.4 Cannot Pair More Lights to Transmitter
Prerequisite: 10 lamps already paired.
Behavior: Attempting to pair an 11th lamp fails.
Solution: A connection from the transmitter to a lamp must be deleted first (cf. BDA - 4.6).
4.5 Transmitter Partially Unpairable to Philips Bridge via Android App
Prerequisite: Setup via an Android device for the Philips Hue Bridge.
Behavior: The Android Philips hue App (Version 1.11.1.0) has an issue where a new "automatic search" does not open the network.
Solution: Before starting a new "automatic search", exit the Settings menu. Then, a connection can be established again (cf. BDA - 4.1).
4.6 Existing Transmitter Blinks Red When Adding New One (New One Green)
Behavior: This occurs when lamps refuse positive feedback (blink green) (End Device Capacity). If the new transmitter blinks green, the process was successful. The red LED on the existing transmitter can be ignored. This can also happen when adding to Philips Bridge or Osram Gateway.
Solution: Reset ZigBee lights using buttons 1 + 2 and repeat the pairing process.
4.7 No Communication Between Transmitter and Lights
Behavior: In rare cases, connection problems can be caused by excessive data traffic in the wireless network (e.g., WLAN router).
Solution: Manually change the ZigBee channel.
- Philips hue (Version 1.11.1.0): Open Hue App > Settings > Hue bridges > Select Bridge > ZigBee > Change Channel. (Note: All lamps must be on. Process takes approx. 30 seconds).
- Osram Lightify (Version v1.6.0): ZigBee channel cannot be manually changed.
- Direct communication (Sender and Lamp, no Bridge/Gateway): ZigBee channel cannot be manually changed.
4.8 Saved Scene Not Executed by Light
Behavior: The number of scenes per light is limited. Once this limit is reached, further scenes are learned by the transmitter but ignored by the light.
Solution: As of 07.06.2016: Philips hue supports 90 scenes per lamp; Osram Lightify supports 15 scenes per lamp. Reset lights via transmitter (buttons 1+2) and re-add to the bridge.
4.9 Osram Lights Not Transferred When Migrating ZigBee Participants from Sender A to Sender B
Behavior: With the current version (Release 10.02.32.02), transferring lights is NOT possible (cf. BDA Hand/Wandsender 5.5). This is planned to be fixed in a future release.
Solution: None.
