Grounding Instructions
This product should be grounded to reduce the risk of electric shock. It is equipped with a cord having a grounding wire and a grounding plug, which must be plugged into a properly installed and grounded outlet.
DANGER: Improper use of the grounding plug can result in a risk of electric shock.
If repair or replacement of the cord or plug is necessary, do not connect the grounding wire to either flat-head terminal. The grounding wire is typically green with or without yellow stripes.
Consult a qualified electrician or serviceman if you are unsure about grounding instructions.
This product is for use on a 120 V circuit and has a grounding plug. A temporary adapter (Figure 1, sketches B and C) may be used to connect to a 2-pole receptacle if a properly grounded outlet is not available, but only until a properly grounded outlet can be installed by a qualified electrician. The adapter's green ground lug must be connected to a permanent ground, such as a properly grounded outlet box cover, secured by a screw.
If an extension cord is necessary, use only a three-wire extension cord with a three-blade grounding plug and a three-slot receptacle. Replace or repair any damaged cord.
The product is factory equipped with a specific cord and plug for connection to a proper electronic circuit. Ensure the outlet has the same configuration as the plug. Do not modify the plug; if it does not fit the outlet, have a qualified electrician install the proper outlet. Reconnection for different electronic circuits should be done by qualified service personnel.
