Notes: 1. All equipment calibrated annually. 2. Instruments marked "X" were used for final test results.

3.2. Test Setup

Below 1GHz: The test setup involves placing the EUT inside an FRP Dome on a non-conducted table. The EUT is connected to a Test Receiver. The antenna is positioned 3 meters away from the EUT, with its height scanned between 1m and 4m.

Above 1GHz: Similar setup as below 1GHz, with the addition of a Pre-Amplifier.

3.3. Limits

Emissions radiated outside the specified frequency bands must be attenuated by at least 20dB below the fundamental level or meet general radiated emission limits per paragraph 15.209. Radiated emissions in restricted bands must comply with Section 15.209(a).

FCC Part 15 Subpart C Paragraph 15.209 Limits

Frequency (MHz)Field strength (microvolts/meter)Measurement distance (meter)
0.009-0.4902400/F(kHz)300
0.490-1.70524000/F(kHz)30
1.705-303030
30-881003
88-2161503
216-9602003
Above 9605003

Remarks: 1. RF Voltage (dBuV) = 20 log RF Voltage (uV). 2. The tighter limit applies at band edges. 3. Distance refers to the measurement antenna and the device.

3.4. Test Procedure

The EUT was tested according to ANSI C63.10:2009 and FHSS test procedure of FCC Public Notice DA 00-705 for FCC 47CFR 15.247. The EUT was placed on a 0.8m high turntable and rotated 360 degrees. The antenna was scanned from 1m to 4m for maximum emission level, tested in both horizontal and vertical polarization. Interface cables were manipulated. Resolution bandwidths were 9kHz (below 30MHz), 120kHz (30MHz-1GHz), and 1MHz (above 1GHz). Measurements were made using Loop Antenna (below 30MHz), Bilog Antenna (30MHz-1GHz), and Horn Antennas (above 1GHz). Testing included preliminary and final measurements, investigating up to the 10th harmonic.

3.5. Uncertainty

± 3.9 dB above 1GHz, ± 3.8 dB below 1GHz

Notes: 1. Readings below 1GHz are Quasi-Peak; above 1GHz are peak/average. 2. Peak measurements: RBW=1MHz, VBW=3MHz. 3. Average measurements: RBW=1MHz, VBW=10Hz. 4. Measurement Level = Reading Level + Correct Factor. 5. Correct Factor = Antenna factor + Cable loss – Amplifier gain. 6. Average measurement not performed if peak data is below average limit. 7. Other frequencies have lower emission levels. 8. No emission found below 30MHz.
